My Observation (Terminated people look here)

Now i know a lot of people are paranoid because it's impossible to know if you're getting paid by yahoo or not. I've been doing some research and have been observing a lot of terminated friends. It appears that yahoo audits your account up to two times. you can tell if they've audited your acct if your balance changes. At termination, if they audit you, then chances are they'll audit you again. If you've been audited after termination, chances are, that is the final time they'll audit and you will be paid the amount you see. Now how much can yahoo audit? It depends on them. Can be nothing, can be 100%. I believe this is COMPLETELY random. It appears that a lot of people with smaller check sizes (X,XXX) got everything taken away, whereas the people with larger checks got paid (a few didn't though). They took a generous 8% from my check. Right before payday, your account bal will drop to 0. Don't be worried, they will pay (if its right before payday). However, if your account balance drops to 0 BEFORE payday, chances are you're out of luck.

When does ypn edit? Sometimes at termination, sometimes while they're mass banning everyone, or sometimes (Not often) right before payday.

YPN termination is completely random. As long as you have an entertainment site, you are at risk. If you are making a lot of money, you are at risk. Hell, two of my friends got their acct terminated when they only made $1 in their acct!

How do you know for sure if you're getting paid? At the 90 day mark, ask them. They will send you an email stating you wont get paid if you're not. If they dont say that, you'll probably get paid.

Also, if you get banned for cloned content, there is a high probability you wont get paid. One of my friends got banned for cloned content, and his bal dropped to 0 during the last audit. He probably wont get paid.

Yahoo will pay within 90 days, sometimes earlier. my acct was term early feburary, and i'm getting paid in a few days. Depends on when the acct was terminated, and if it's been audited yet.

Hope this helps. I've been researching for months.

My favorite part about YPN is how it is a 'mystery' and we have to 'research' what we deserve and what they are going to give us.

Fucking bullshit. Hardly any other business transactions work this way.

Well, they are still under 'beta' anyways and that gives them some leeway in 'refining' their system. When you sign up or use anything which is beta, you will inevitably need to accept the risk.

^True. That is the only thing that I can't fight against, it was Beta so I am not really surprised, I just wished they gave warnings to prepare us, like "Your account will be terminated next month"

As stupid as that sounds it's better than instant termination.

It would be nice if we actually knew what people were terminated for...i.e. if they were clicking their own ads. However, I doubt we will ever know that.

    Terminated for 'low traffic quality'.
Was paid a few days after being terminated (4 figures), and again just a few weeks ago (90 days after being terminated), again 4 figures.

I didn't experience any audit to the money they paid me.. not even a cent.

Yeah I just got terminated for low quality traffic after almost 2 years.
I was in contact with them and at one point a couple months ago had to remove 2 high traffic sites for low quality traffic but they were cool with my other sites until a few days ago.

I had $2x,xxx from March so I figured I would be waiting the 90 days for that and Aprils payment but my March payment made it into my account today!! And it was the full amount.
    I'm extremely happy about that!

I am guessing that they keep a lot of the $$$ from publishers not geo targeting or those with huge CTR.

Well being from Canada, i'm of course not in yet and I wouldn't want to be right now till they get thier act cleaned up. I mean I wouldn't want an account if I thought they would terminate it for whatever and whenever when waiting a while down the road they may get it right.

There is a lesson to be learned here..Don't put your eggs all in one basket folks...

Yeah, especially if it is a beta basket.

From the looks of it, it will be a long way before they get out of beta. I got a feeling that they are just using mere mortals as their guinea pigs and when they get out of beta, they may just offer the big websites which generates tons of traffic the membership to YPN as an alternative to Adsense.

I think it's a joke how companies like Yahoo and Google can treat web publishers this way. They would not get away with their techniques in the real world. I think sometimes on the Internet, business ethics and protocol goes right out the window.

It is surprising they do not work with the publisher to see how they can improve their traffic. Flat out termination cannot be good for their reputation. This mass termination thing also is not that appealing. I can appreciate they are trying to apease their advertisers but if they continue to throw out all of their publishers who are they going to serve the ads too? It is like a catch 22. They really should try to find some middle ground. Alienating all of the publishers will eventually come back and sting them in the butt.
