In building links I undestand that getting one-way links is good for my site ranking. I also know that article submission and forum posting are 2 of the methods I can get one-way links. Now here is my question: Does forum posting has the same effectiveness as articles in directories in aiding page rank? For example, if one have, say 200 posts on a forum and 200 articles on directories - which one of the 2 is more powerful for page rank? Thanks for your response.
IMO Articles are much much more powerful for SEO. I am not sure if that is what you mean by PR (Do you want better search placement? or Just a higher number assigned to you by google?). PR Doesn't matter though, if SERP(s) is what you are after, articles will have a much much greater impact. Reason behind that, is those articles are going to be one way links, that are going to end up on related websites, websites related to your topic. Personally, I feel forum links have almost no impact on SERP(s)
Yes, I agreed by posting article to article directory the most powerful way of getting a high PR after your articles had been display thousand times and had hundreds of backlink from the publisher. I had seen people getting a very high PR just by article marketing. Do you link participate on link exchange program would be better to get higher PR?
It depends on the search engine if they index your forum post or your article on article directory. Just do them both for link building.
that depents on where you are talking about. if you are talking about the power of a digital point signature. i believe it has power more than article submission
It depends on the pagerank of pages where your links stay. If you have a pr5 link from article, it worts like many pr0 links from forum posts. Forums pass page rank only if they don't have nofollow tag.
I do not know much anyways, here is what I think. What matters SERP is content, and most of the times we find articles have keyword rich and quality contents rather than forum posts. Maybe forum signatures can be used to get traffic, and they also affect your PR if you have them in bulk. For an example, 5,000 Signature links really matters when they are on relevant forums with higher PR.
SERP means?? (Newbie, sorry) From everything I've read so far, article submissions seem to work better. However, I have noticed that a lot of forum posts get indexed by the search engines very quickly, so it wouldn't hurt. You can't do just one or the other, try 25% forums and 75% articles for example.
Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Advantages: Forum-Unique content, so it good chance to get a google backlink . Article-On an article page there will be one or two external links. And good article has been published freely to other article directories keeping your back link. Disadvantages: Forum: There are at list 10+ outbound links on one page. Article-Though your article is unique but is submitted repeatedly to another article directories so it will not consider as a unique content. In my opinion Forums work well than articles.
Forums do not pass much link juice. I think article directories do better, plus your article could get published on other sites, though the duplicate content issue could diminish the link value somewhat. For even better links, submit unique articles to other sites on your topic. Send an email to the site owner and ask if they will accept content in exchange for a one way link. Look for a gap that has not yet been covered by that site. But when doing this you can only submit that article to only one site. But, again, the link juice it will pass will be far more than a forum or article directory ever could.
article writing is better I say - if u submit to multiple directories - cause user can take your article put it on their site and credit you with your link as well but I do forum posting just to gather more info from others and help others
I believe articles are a better way to get relevant backlinks but try to submit unique articles to different directories rather than the same version to hundreds of sites. Once you have written an article it does not take long to write different versions, also use slightly different titles for each (all containing your keywords) and different summaries and resource text if possible, this takes longer but keeps all your submissions unique and all your backlinks relevant to your website content, also try to link back to a page on your site that is similar in content to your article - not always linking back to the home page, you should see your individual pages creeping up the rankings. Also keep a check on people stealing the articles and not putting in the links. One of the best article sites that I have found for improving individual page rankings is ezinearticles.com only slight problem is that the link is with the address only and not with anchor text.
Thanx for the suggestions on link building. As search engines prefer unique content, articles could be better link builders.
I think forum post can bring you good traffic if forum is too active. and you will get also back link but not happens with all forums to get back links. So, article is bomb for for link popularity.
