Yep lets live the American dream and shop and eat at BigBoxMart......errrrrr I mean walmart. Walmart represents one of the major problems going on right now.
I'm curious how Wal-Mart could invade your privacy. Are they installing cameras in the bathrooms? If you go into a Wal-Mart, or any public place for that matter, your expectation of privacy is zero.
Why suspect anything? Corporate ownership is public information. Coles Myer is owned by The Coles Group Limited, which is a publicly traded corporation. Woolworths and David Jones are both publicly traded corporations. Buy stock, then you too can own part of any of these companies.
I would love to write a response, but I am out of fruit, motor oil, clean t-shirts, and I need a new toothbrush and some dogfood...I am headed to the only store where I know I can get all of this....wally world.
If they engage in spying, that's ok? Nice, so you don't only have the government to worry about, you have greedy corporate interests. BTW, any of you guys heard of what is going on in Latin America?
Wal-Mart exists for one reason: to make a profit. Wal-Mart makes a profit by one mechanism: serving me. I like to be served. If they need security guys to server me better, I am all for it. If they hire security guys they don't need, then their prices will go up. If their prices go up, that is not serving me as well and I will give my money to someone who serves me better. Until that time, no company in their marketspace is anywhere near as good at serving me as Wal-Mart. Go Wal-Mart! You're my favoritest retailer ever and you always will be, until someone better comes along.
Then you should know why people would have a problem with corporate shenanigan. BTW, look at the people they are hiring. I'm sure it's those pesky shoplifters they are after.
Especially those good folks making the products that Americans buy so cheaply. They work hard indeed. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/12/20/national/main533818.shtml http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2005/11/30/walmartbangladesh051130.html Of course these people should just be glad to have a job
In the U.S., the workers are free to seek other employment. In Bangladesh, many will probably die now that Wal-Mart has stopped doing business with their employer.
