Apparently real Marines (soldiers anyone?) do not share democrats enthusiasm for defeat.

A sad time in our history for the democrat party. Real Americans simply do not support their "surrender at all cost" policies.

You posted it before I got the chance too....Harry Reid is an idiot, as is Nancy P...all they want to do is appease the terrorists and hope they go away. Bill Clinton did that and look what happened a few years later....

If only democrats were as passionate about going after evil enemies that make no excuses for wanting to destroy the US like they went after Republicans that come out of the closet!

I don't understand why all these democratic politicians keep on attacking the military this way it almost seems as if they are purposely trying to destroy the armed forces.

    Syntax correction.

Those aren't democrats, those are far left nut jobs who happen to be registered democrats just like there are far right nut jobs that happen to be registered republicans.

Frankly both parties disgust me right now but that's a whole different issue....

A fair point George, though it is getting harder and harder to distinguish democrats from liberals in the party.

    I agree.
We need some type of real 3rd party. They're all piles of shit, the whole bunch of them. Liberals being the worst and republicrats nipping at their heels.

Have you asked alex jones? I didn't note anything in the article. Just because you dislike the Iraqi people and want them to live under terrorist rule doesn't mean everyone who thinks otherwise works for Halliburton.

George, those aren't just "registered democrats" -- those are "elected Democrats."

Harry Reid isn't some disgruntled party member whose been off his medication, he's the Senate Majority Leader for the Democratic Party.

An objective observer might be tempted to consider that they are purposefully trying to destroy the Democratic Party.

Maybe in the very far off future that could happen but unfortunately it's too late for that to happen any time soon. The 2 party system has been in place for so long that it's polarized our nation and divided us too much. Look here in the PandR forum section for eye opening evidence of that.

The problem is that the 2 parties started out with opposing views (which is good for debate and fairness) but have begun to be taken over by the far right and far left agenda. They're not completely lost, and there is hope that we can eventually elect leaders who see this problem and find a solution. But absolute power corrupts absolutely and the sad fact is you can be a fanboy for whatever candidate you like but NO ONE knows what they are going to actually do when they get in office except them and their closest confiders. So please stop voting for candidates based on a smile and a speech. Do some research and at least try to get a feel for what they will likely do when in office and ensure it fits your idea of a good direction for the country.

What are you saying, that none of it is true? That this is all BS written by someone purely for the purposes of propoganda and not because of it's truth and importance to the core principals of the country you claim to love? Quite the contrary, I would say.

I suppose Cheney was being truthful when he used 'weapons of mass destruction' as a reason to invade Iraq?

Nah, mate, you're being willingly dragged by the nose into a future where all the power is held in the hands of a single individual arbitrarily wielded - you're not that far away from it either.

Isn't that why the US supposedly went to war against Iraq - to stop weapons of mass destruction from being in the hands of a single individual with a bloody purpose?

    mcfox:

Read the Joint Resolution to Authorize the Use of United States Armed Forces Against Iraq.

WMD and potential WMD were two of the many reasons to choose Iraq as our next target for reconstruction. To claim that those were the only reasons is dishonest.

No one is more opposed to overreaching government than I am, but nothing mentioned in that article is even worth being on the radar as far as civil liberties go. All of them together pale in comparison to the wrongs of McCain-Feingold, The War on Drugs, the Gun Control Act of 1968, or dozens of other screwups which I could mention.

The author is attempting, clumsily, to paint a picture which simply is not realistic.

WMD's aren't my words, Will, they are those of Rep. Kucinich, who has sought to impeach Cheney as outlined in the Washington Post:

"Article I, that Richard Cheney had purposely manipulated the intelligence process to deceive the citizens and the Congress of the United States by fabricating a threat of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction to justify the use of the United States armed forces against the nation of Iraq in a manner damaging to our national security."

"despite all evidence to the contrary, the vice president actively and systematically sought to deceive the citizens and the Congress of the United States about an alleged threat of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction."

The supporting documents for H Res 333 can be found here: House Resolution 333, Articles of Impeachment Relating to Vice President Richard B. Cheney.

I'm always amazed at the lengths people will go to, to NOT take action in light of information like this.
