I helped create a marketing article entitled "You Are Going To Die" The purpose of the article is to prove that grabbing a readers attention is vital, and that any site that doesn't interest its readers is eventually going to die. I think the article is informative, but my question is this.... Is it too aggressive? Have a read for yourself and tell me if it is too much: You Are Going To Die
I dont think its too agressive, but isn't your premise, that "any site that doesn't interest its readers is eventually going to die", rather common sense. You may grab readers with your title but your content is really nothing new, and not very interesting, which is a strange paradox considering your premise.
The content is not going to give anything away, it is just leading to more information that is coming soon. You are correct about the premise of the article. Thanks for your feedback.
top 10 lists always get peoples attention, maybe "Top 10 things you can do to avoiding dying in the next 60 seconds" just a thought.
LOL. $200,000 for these tips. Anyway, A site does not necessarily need returning traffic to become a success. Tell me , do you think a site like About.com has much, if any, returning traffic. I doubt it. Yet they are incredibly popular site because of vast amounts of traffic they get from search engines. Sure, if your content is good then you get linked and improve the search engine rankings that way. But to sday a site will die is a bit over the top.
The tips were not in the article. I am not going to reveal them on the blog, 2 weeks before I reveal them in America It was more of a pre-tips article. Glad you all enjoyed it though. Very true.
I don't think it's aggressive, but a bit too vague, you should write "you are doing to die if ____" or "your business is going to die if ____"
thats very true, about.com is genius as far as search engine marketing is concerned, I must have used that site at least 3 times in the past month
