    Ok here's the deal...

I am really bad with the whole computer thing and I am having a lot of trouble with this simple thing which I am sure all of you know...

    This is it...

Basically I am selling something, people pay me over paypal, then IPN triggers off and it sends them out an email automatically...

Basically in the email I want it to say go to the URL:BLAHBLAHBLHA

and then they can go there, when they arrive there a message pops-up and ask them to save the zip file...

Basically how can I upload the files to my web site, I am in the file manager interface as we speak... I have tried lotsa things but I cant get anything to work

I am sure this is a simple answer but could someone plz tell me in an easy to understand way?

    Thanks so much...

    Josiah

Use FTP. If you are using FireFox, you can download the free FTP extension. http://fireftp.mozdev.org/

Try SmartFTP which is free. Then just connect to your server and drag and drop the files from your computer to your public_html directory. If you store your files somewhere else, say files/ directory you should upload them to that directory. Make sure you zip the files, so everybody can download them. A simple download link looks like this:

http://www.yoursite.com/files/file.zip Simply provide a link like that one in your emails and your visitors will be able to download the file to their computers.

    Hope this helps.

Ipswitch WS_FTP is a decent FTP programme if you need one. I think they have a free trial. I've been using it for a few years now and never had a problem with it.

If you do not wish to download any program, alternatively, you can always access to your files from your control panel of your server.

Why pay for something you can legally get for free that is just as good (if not better than) the commercial version?
