Just a little fact on that for you, instead of your OPINION of history, maybe look up the reality: The internal evidence test reveals the Bible's amazing consistency. The Bible was written by over 40 authors, in 3 languages, on 3 continents, over a span of 1,500 years, and covers hundreds of controversial subjects. Yet, the authors all spoke with agreement; there are NO contradictions. From Genesis to Revelation, there is one unfolding story--God's redemption of mankind. If it was just a political agenda, there'd be mixed messages all around, like in Islam that says to kill the enemy, then to be peaceful, flip-flopping more than John Kerry. Mohammad's conquest of Arabia was certainly one of the most violent moments in history, beheading his war plunder wife's husband, father, and brother. At least Jesus, Buddha, and Hinduism preach peace, and turn the other cheek. Islam teaches to get revenge, and kill those who insult Mohammad, their "prophet" (who violently forced people to worship him as a prophet).
Actually a very famous French scientist - previously an athiest - converted to Islam after testing the Quran against science to find errors. His intention was initially possibly to ridicule the Quran but he ended up converting. Every true religion needs to be able to withstand reason. If something cannot be justified or reasoned, then it becomes a story.
I guess the scientist missed the part where all of the science found in the Koran was common knowledge for the day. I also like the part where he assumed that because the scientific part was accurate, the spiritual part was also accurate. Conclusion: scientists are not always that bright.
There's not a shortage of men. There's an abundance of women created for the pleasure of men after the men die and go to heaven. Nobody believes that 72 virgins are dying for every 1 man that dies. 72 is also a "magic" number that implies infinity. So really the women are disposable after they're "used." Which is how they treat their women in this life. Once a woman has been "defiled" by rape or has sex prior to marriage, she's been used and of no worth so they have no qualms about executing her. You'd be surprised how many religions preach great sex in heaven. Even the LDS church has taught that.
I regard anything to do with the supernatural to not be scientific unless you can prove the supernatural exists. You can and you cannot prove or disprove anything of this nature. Therefore - arguments over it are futile. Besides - all this arguing does is distract everyone from the more important issues going on in the world - exactly as it is intended to do.
It's not my OPINION. It's well known fact that the bible is nothing more than a collection of works by many different authors which was voted on by a committee, deciding which books to keep and which books to omit. God didn't write the bible and the fact that several historical facts appear in the bible does not necessarily make it historically accurate. And if you go back and actually read the bible, you'll find that it is, indeed, filled with several "mixed messages" and contradictions.
four legged birds ?????? Never in my life heared about this in the bible and i do read it .... whats next ???
The history shows that it from Daud Pslams, evolved to Musa's Taurat,Then to Isa's(Jesus) injil(bible) and then been revised again to the ultimate Al-quran.So why then we quarrel about this?
And this is the most difficult thing for Muslims. They are brought up with the belief the prophet is holy and anything said against him requires - even a cartoon - requires the death of the person who says that - What religion is so fearful of a close examination of its prophet. The reason why I 'insult' your prophet is because he is a FALSE PROPHET. If you read the Bible you will find it impossible for Muhammed to be from God. Satan loves creating as many counterfeit religions as possible to lead people away from truth. Sorry my friend I am happy to live in peace with you - in fact Jesus commands that you LOVE your enemies. But in comparing the two religions at the most BASIC element - Bible believing Christianity sets up the plan of salvation through faith - as a GIFT of God. God SO loves you he sent his son to die for you. There is absolutely nothing you can do to make yourself be acceptable to God, you can't work salvation - you can only believe and accept his great gift. In response for God's great gift we love him and if we love him we obey his commandments. But this obedience comes from us having a daily relationship with God for him, not from any goodness in me. Islam as I understand sets up a religion based on obedience and WORKS. You must obey the seven pillars of Islam. You must DO certain things and even then God is going to burn you in hell for a while before you get to paradise. What Loving God would burn you in hell to purge you of sin and then give you eternal paradise. I don't think I would be very loving to God after he burnt me in hell for a couple of million years, would you? (And this is where the Roman Catholic religion faces the same problem the RC church teaches the same doctrine, and teaches salvation through the sacramental system - i.e. unless you partake in the sacraments of the church - baptism, confirmation, mass, etc you can not be save - thus it is a works based religion and VERY similar to Islam in that way). Yes there is a judgment, yes people will be condemned to the fires of Hell, but not to burn for millions of years to become acceptable - anyone condemned to the fires of Hell will be EXTINGUISH forever - yes I believe the Bible teaches some will suffer longer than others according to their works (Its only just that people like Hitler, Stalin, etc pay a price for the amount of evil they did to others - but this is something done in front of the saints so I don't think it will be something going on for days let alone years). This does not mean that people of many religions won't be in heaven - God says he winks at our ignorance. People of FAITH will be in heaven from most religions - so long as they lived up to the truth they had. But if you are presented with TRUTH it will set you free. As for the Bible being inaccurate in history - Although it is not primarily a history book it has been remarkably accurate - e.g. some people said King David was just a fairy tale - until they found Egyptian writing talking about the House of David (now King David is accepted by most historians as a real person). Unlike most other history of its time that sets up Kings and Rulers as being wonderful - See Ramses record of his GREAT VICTORY against the Hittites - which most historians say was a draw - compare that to the Bible which doesn't hide King David's stealing another man's wife, his son's rebellion, etc. In fact the Bible as a history book tells it like it is - it has stories of jealousy, incest, rape, murder, its history is not flowery, or fake - if ever there are an accurate history book - the Bible is it - it records humans as they are - not as they want to be remember. As for the meetings which authorized the cannon of the Bible they did they with much prayer and consideration. Inspiration isn't word for word dictation. But the central theme is throughout.
Well if you still call Muhammad (PBUH) a false prophet, analyse this: 1- It is a very well-known fact that when Muhammad (PBUH) was in the womb of her mother Aminah, her belly used to glow and this is even mentioned in almost EVERY historical biography of the Prophet (PBUH) 2- When Muhammad (PBUH) was still a little child, he was travelling with his uncle Abu Talib when they met a great Christian scholar (whose name I can't recall) who said to his uncle that I sense prophethood in him. 3- Muhammad (PBUH) had no education so how could he write such a book (the Quran) which even mentions that the universe was created by God through a Big Bang! 4- Muhammad (PBUH) spent his days before prophethood as a shepherd and EVERY prophet before him was a shepherd! Scholars believe that shepherds have the qualities of leadership. 5- Muhammad (PBUH) was such an honest man that his enemies, even after his prophethood called him "Saadiq" which is the Arabic for "The Truthful". One of his greatest enemies at that time, Abu Jahal said "Even though Muhammad (PBUH) speaks the truth about his prophethood, the only reason I cannot believe him is that he is from the other tribe". 6- When the pagans of Makkah had tried enough torture on Muhammad (PBUH) and his followers at that time and they did not give up their faith, the leaders of Makkah then tried to bribe him that they will make him the King of Arab and give him everything he wants if he gives up his prophethood. But the Prophet (PBUH) replied that even if they placed the sun on his right hand and the moon on his left, he would not leave spreading the truth as ordered to him by God. 7- The claim to prophethood was not entirely his own. After Gabriel gave him the first revelation, he went to his brother-in-law who was a great Christian scholar. When Muhammad (PBUH) told him his experience, he said that verily, every prophet before had received the revelation this way and he was another prophet! I can go on and on and on and on because I have read his biographies which are ALL unanimous! But unfortunately my A'level exams are up ahead so I have to study too!
And you do. Lots of informally educated people write books. I've read the Quran. I've read good books. It's not well written at all. Pilgrim's Progress, considered one of the best books of all time was written by a person who was uneducated. Joseph Smith the first prophet of the LDS church has the same story as Muhammad. Uneducated, visited by Gabriel, etc.
If you have read the Quran but still did not get guidance, then my friend I'm afraid, you are not one of those whom God wills to be guided to the right path! It's mentioned even in the Quran.
And you know why I keep going on and on? Because I want to remove misconceptions about my beautiful religion and wish everybody realizes its truth.
Okay, the dribble of useless debate has pushed me to the edge of not being able to read anymore threads like this... *unsubscribes*
Sorry - Jesus (whom you call a prophet) wasn't a literal shepherd - he was a carpenter. Matthew 24:2427 - For false Christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders, so as to deceive if possible even the elect. See I have told you before hand. Therefore if they say to you 'Look, He is in the desert!' Do not go out, or 'look, He is in the inner room,' do not believe it. For as the lightening comes from the east and flashes to the west so also will the coming of the son of man be. Verse 30-31 - Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his elect from the four wind, from one end of heaven to the other. 1 Corinthians 15: 20-25 But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order. Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ's at his coming. Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. I don't believe your prophet put an end to death - therefore I must conclude he is not the second coming of Christ as preached in the Bible - therefore Matthew 24 is highly relevant. Jesus has not returned yet, but the new testament is full of his promise to return and put an end to death. Christianity and Islam therefore are irreconcilable - therefore as a Muslim you must ignore the Bible or give up your religion. Read the Bible cover to cover - see if you can reconcile it with the Quran/Koran - if they are both from God/Allah they will be totally in agreement. Good luck with your A levels. God bless you.
Glad you mentioned that Yes he met a priest who was in possession of many scriptures in a place that is now in Iraq. He consulted him many times and after getting the scriptures from him he drew him into a well and drew big stones after him to make sure he's dead. He then took the scripture and thought that's what it taskes to be a prophet. Remember without the presence of the holy spirit, the interpretation of these scriptures went terrible wrong while he attempted to alter them to fit him. IT IS TOO OBVIOUS. Furthermore he had no education that made it even more vulnerable to failure until to this present time.
You are living the misconception. Sorry to say you that, but its the truth. The teachings of Jesus is all about character and attitude and not science and historical facts. Since the characters from muhammad and Jesus are completly in contradiction means nothing else than both can't be right. Even atheists appreciate the character of Jesus and most of them try to implement this into their lives. Unfortunately they think its good enough to do it on their own with their own interpretations. Islam preys on those who doubt, having nothing else than (almost always wrong) scientific dialogue, which is otherwise a by-product in scripture writings but not focusing on it. Now what character have you chosen to follow? There are no more secrets about the truth. There is no space for dualism in the teachings of the holy scripures. The truth of and from God is absolute and belongs to him and not to scienctists and opportunists and its selfishness. The same truth belongs also to simple people with common sense who believe in the words of Jesus and who follow suit. Hence he has given also the gift of prophesy to many in this days. So muhammad can by no means be the last prophet. - bingo - When muslims claim to believe in Jesus than its just for their blinding propaganda. Some of you even claim that islam is the fasted growing religion. Not true, but it is the fastest growing ideology to intimate and distort the truth and try to force your ill minded spirits on our free societies.
