I am thinking of starting a website that will let you make payments to and recieve payments from 17 different merchants including paypal, egold etc... just through signing up on this one site. However before i begin work on the site i just want to do a little market research to see if the site would be used. Please can you give me feedback on what you think and vote wether or not you would use the site.
yes i would. If you were verified with say..thawte or verisign. I guess you may have already thought about this. Would the payment system be able to be integrated a cart? or re-directed to your site?
Yes the site would have built in shops where people could accept payments for items like they do on paypal but they will be able to accept payment from over 17 different merchants just on this one site. other features would include, Send money to unregistered members like paypal. The user just needs to signup to collect funds Sell products via the built in store Full product control HTML generator for pay buttons Ability to accept donations Ability to accept subscriptions Shoping cart integration Deposit and withdraw funds via a variety of pay systems Ability to request payment
Paypal only allows me to send money from my country, which is no better than no recognition. Because of that, I have serious trouble finding buyers, because very few of them use/are willing to set up an account with different processors. Do it, and I wil be among the first ones to sign up.
I voted yes. Almost none of the payment processing companies works for South Africa. So if you make it available for South Africans, I think it will be a big hit! We are REALLY looking for something! Let me know if you do it and when it's done! It will be nice if it's secured by thwate
and make it for australia too..there seems to be a lack of payment processors here. Options seem to be paypal/paymate or overseas ones like 2co. I'm looking for a payment solution to process digital products like templates/ebooks/hosting/web design. So if you could add that..and be an all round payment processor I reckon you would be very competitive with paypal. Cheap rates too are a must. If you were to be more expensive than paypal ..well I guess thats obvious. yes if you were secured by thawte, you would look credible and be more trusted.
Thanks for all of the comments, it has made my decision alot easier, the site should be up and running at the end of the month, i will post on this thread when the site is up and running.
Well, this month ends in a week, so I can wait. And yes, you should really be succesful if you target the non-paypal countries - just don't make the fees too high.
is a good idea but as I know paypal/moneybookers etc don't allow money exchange between them , maybe I am wrong , anyway you should send an email to all processors you want to work with and clarify this before starting it . btw , does anybody know a good cc processor , I am from eastern europe and a good cc processor whould be good to know . Thanks
It's a good idea and one tried before but sadly hasn't worked. The #1 issue is fraud and sadly that's an issue that can't be fixed. eGold for example, while I think is good has absolutely no fraud protection and paypal, very, very limited. People who do eGold exchange for example only use secured funds. The only way it could work is if you only used certified funds, i.e. wire transfer or western union but the problem there is that it becomes such an inconvenience for potential users that you may never gain traction. If you can figure out the fraud aspect would be an awesome service.
Yes the plan is still to launch at the end of the month, however due to paypals terms and conditions i have had to change how the site functions. You can upload funds to your account via your bank/debit&credit card/17 different merchants and send the funds to another user on the site(you can also send money to people that are not registered as they will have to sign up to accept it.) They can withdraw these funds via their bank/17 different merchants. Just to clarify how the site works you are not sending the money directly from paypal to e-gold you are adding funds via one of the merchants then sending the money using my site and they can withdraw the funds the way they want to. As there was sum confusion caused before on how the site works.
