    Email them:
Explain things. Expect to have to prove you are the new owner and you have no connection with the previous owner. You'll probably need to provide whois data, receipts etc to do this.

Your link checks if a site has been banned from Google search engine not google adsense

Banning from adsense doesn't mean banning from search engine and vice versa ;)

The best way to get answer I think you should email to them.
And include the site data which can verify that you are 100% owner of that site.

In my opinion I think you can run your adsense on that site.
But to be ensure, Contact and ask them for help.

Were you aware of the fact that the site was banned? And is it banned just from adsense? If so, you say you bought the content as well, in which case be prepared to have to change the content and rebuild the whole website before contacting Google with some explanations and a request for an unban, eventually.

Google doesn't ban your website, Google bans YOU! If you're caught, you're done! Best way is to get in touch with them, and ask them what you should do!

Not true! Sometimes google simply bans a website, NOT the publisher. People, let's get facts straight before posting

Just email them. I have a site that was banned by google, google emailed me asked me to put down their code. They also said my account is safe but I must not put any adsense code on that site.

I have had no problem until now.
