Which domain is best to use?

I have two domain names. One to submit to search engines and one that is used for print marketing and such. Which domain should be the main one... the one that shows up on the address bar once at the site?

Currently... jacksonville-ponte-vedra-florida-real-estate.com is the one that is submitted to the search engines and shows up in the address bar. buythathome.net is the one that is 301 redirected.

Would it hurt to have buythathome.net as the main domain and have the jacksonville-ponte-vedra-florida-real-estate.com redirected since this is the one that is submitted to the search engines?

Let me know if the question was not asked properly.

    Thanks to all who comment.

    does jacksonville-ponte-vedra-florida-real-estate.com have any links?

If not, then forget it. Too many keywords, it's a spam domain name permanently attached to your site.

How long have you been pushing jacksonville-ponte-vedra-florida-real-estate.com? If not long, then drop it and forget it.

It's just so much more sensible to have one site with all the links.

I would have to disagree about the domain name being spam. There is no repetition in the keyphrases. Clearly each word is separated. Is there any literature that supports your statement?

But to answer your question. There are no links associated with it and the domain hasn't been submitted to search engines yet although Google has found it somehow and has some pages indexed.

I read the article and did not find it helpful.

It's not because keywords aren't repeated that it doesn't look spammy.

If I see this URL in SERPs : jacksonville-ponte-vedra-florida-real-estate.com
I will never click on it.

Plus, to many hyphens, the keywords in the domain name will not help you much.

You should try to push "buythathome.net", look more serious and brandable.

What I really don't understand is why this issues are discussed here if the server administration and marketing forums are plenty of questions, explanations and support on this topic.

However I should agree with that loooong domain name, who can remember that
