hi all i noticed that there are many people that hires seo experts and pay thousands of dollars for this. here's my question what skills seo experts have that make us pay to them thousands & thousands of dollars...?
the most important in my honest opinion is experience. If an SEO expert can show you prior work where he/she has succeeded than i would consider them for the job. However there are many things to consider, you may not see the same results with the same tactics if the previous customer was in a special niche with little competition.
A proven track-record of results which comes from years and years of seminars, lot's of reading, newsletters, blogs, magazines and testing seo therory in real world applications.
could not agree more with eniram, real world experience is key. You can read all the information you want and all the theory there is and if you don't practice it on your own then it is of no use.
Nicely summed up! It is also worth pointing out that lots of people will claim to be an SEO expert, who may not be so 'expert' but will happily charge you thousands of dollars.
"make us" probably not correct, but "make that people" sounds more reasonable if you understand what I mean People pay them to get decent ROI, that's why amount of money is second there (I don't talk about someone who wants SEO/SEM job done for $199 or other crazy amount). At least that how it needs to be done.
Years and years of track record should be the main criteria. In this make belief world --there are lots of self-declared SEO experts. So one should really be careful while choosing someone with his/her sites.
Thats simple, you have to be able to deliver what you say you can, good rankings, its as simple as that.
In my oppinion, somebody who claims to be a seo expert, is not a person you can trust. I think that only a client can give his SEO counselor this title. You should never trust somebody who guarantees you a SE position, because nobody can do. I think a SEO expert isn't only somebody who can use methods to better your SE position, but has also understanding of algorithms.
