I just learned one of my sites is ranked in the top 10 for a popular prescription drug. What are some good options for monetizing this traffic? Is Adsense okay with this traffic or is an affiliate program the best option? It seems a waste to just let the traffic leave without doing something with it.
Definitely affiliate programs. You can make like $30 for sale as opposed to $0.5-3 per click (with adsense). You could also try to offer a bonus if users buy the Rx through your site, for example giving them a "how to be better in bed" ebook if they buy viagra. There are plenty of resale rights/PLR ebooks which you can get.

Great job. With 1000's of pharmacy related keywords hacked in Google, a top position in these days is an outstanding perfomance.
I've looked at a lot of pharmacy programs and they all give me the feeling of fly-by-night. My hope was there was something comparable to a CJ or Linkshare which would work. However, at least in the forums, no one mentions them. The ebook idea sounds promising. I read that thread first and went to the website and signed up. The commissions don't seem to be great, support appears limited, and it doesn't look like they have much of a selection of ads. Plus, all the talk about lawsuits didn't help either. The keyword is not in Google, it's in Yahoo. But, Yahoo still delivers some traffic (I would think) for a major term like this. I'll update this thread with my progress.
