Hi all, I just wanted to find out some information on stumbleupon.com. I've seen it posted all over the web so I joined because I was told it drives lots of traffic to your website. When I joined, all i got was a toolbar and the ability to rate other sites. How do people stumbleupon my websites? Would it actually drive lots of traffic to my websites? Is it worth bothering about? Please let me know you views/oppinions. Thanks!
stumble upon is a social bookmarking website, where you can register for free! just get and account, verify your email, and install the toolbar! after that, open a website, click the i like button on the toolbar. if you are the first one to do this, then you will have to add a review etc. try it, you will have fun! check out the freebes section, everyone is stumbling!
Thanks got it! Does it actually drive traffic to your websites though? Is it like a ranking process... the more stumbles and reviews.... the higher up the list you go?
With stumble you can really increase your traffic for sure and that too immediate effect. But my experience, long run you will see a fall when it is compared to that of the start. You wont loose anything except some neg comments if you stumble a worthless site Regards
Yep, you need to submit a really good page to stumble and you'll get tons of traffic. A crappy one and you won't get anything beyond 20 or so visitors.
So what about my new links directory? Is it worth getting people to stumble www.ld.myspace4yourpage.com do you think?
I doubt it, think along the lines of something funny, something that could make the front page of digg if people actually saw it. Cool flash videos, tech stuff, atheist articles, comedic. Those are what get stumbled.
usually the site that is added in the profile of stumble upon get's the maximum traffic, and the number of stumble friends matters the most!
Thanks for the advise! I decided to leave it for a while, mainly because I think that stumble upon is kinda "false" traffic e.g. APRIL: stumble upon sends me 100,000 hits on top of my usual 10,000 hits and BOOM my websites rocket... MAY stumble upon sends me 50 hits and my site falls just an example so i'm leaving it for a while until I have a steady flow of traffic and I feel more confident about it. Thanks for the advise everyone I appreciate it.
lol as of what i have seen yeah you get tons of traffic from stumble if you advertise correctly on it.
Yeah, I think my plan will work... if I have excellent traffic intake, the extra stumbleupon traffic hopefully won't make too much of a good/bad difference. I just need a huge steady flow of traffic so that when stumbleupon stops sending me big traffic, I won't be losing much. Thanks for the advise.
It can, so long as you have the right kind of pages. I think funny stuff does well, as do pretty pictures, because I think the average stumbler is looking for entertainment.
