Thank you for all the help! I have EVERYTHING in e-mails and IM conversations so everything this guy said I have proof of. If anything, I will end up selling the articles so I can pay the writers who worked on them.

Its more that I want everyone on the DP forum and Writer's forums to know about this dishonest and disgusting person.

Wow. Doesn't seem like he should be so stingy with his money.

    He is probably lying anyhow.

Let us know what ends up happening!

Why in the world would he tell you about his car in the middle of a business deal?

He didn't. He posted about it separately on another forum.

I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune, and sincerely hope this client somehow comes to his senses and compensates you for your time.

It's unfortunate that people need to resort to these type of things nowadays.

That really sucks. Intellectual property theft is something that is always at the front of my mind when writing ANYTHING. Best way to go as I see it has been said many times over, require a payment up front. I have always thought that reputation and professionalism should be worth the up front payment as it can help assure the client that they are dealing with a professional and not a novice. If they don't trust your ability and that you will in fact, turn out the copy you have contracted for; then why did they hire you? And if they don't trust you, perhaps it's simply better to deal with someone who does.
