"The initial Muslim conquests (632–732) began after the death of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, and were marked by a century of rapid Arab expansion beyond the Arabian peninsula under the Rashidun and Umayyad caliphs, ending with the Battle of Tours."

Within 100 years of his death Islam expanded all the way into France. Spread by the sword anyone?

it states on that map that muhammad had already had conquests from 622 to 632.
the wording is wrong if going by the map they are using. if muhammad was already invading places for 10 years, then they would be classed as the initial muslim conquests by default

No, white texan in Korea. Why?

You are MISTAKING what I was trying to say, that AFTER HE WAS DEAD, his MESSAGE caused his followers to conquer half the world and "spread by the sword" so to speak.

That's not to mention that Mohammad conquered Arabia and forcibly converted the people to worship him as a prophet.

I'm demonstrating that his MESSAGE caused these people to violently forcibly convert and conquer others and force them to "submit". Within 70 years. As far as Christianity is concerned, the Crusades (the only example of a unified violent cause) were 1,200 years later and a self-defense response to Muslim invasions of their lands (they were in Greek and Spanish lands).

So the truth about islam is that it is "conquer by the sword" since the very beginning?

I guess none of you were educated about what happened to Christianity during the Crusades, which lasted for a few hundred years in Europe, or the Spanish Inquisition. Christianity has had its share of dark times too.

Let's see what this religious website (http://www.gotquestions.org/Christian-crusades.html) has to say about the Crusades:

"How can we respond when, as a result of the crusades, the Christian faith is attacked by atheists, agnostics, skeptics, and those of other religions? We can respond in the following ways: (1) Do you want to be held accountable for the actions of people who lived 900+ years ago? (2) Do you want to be held accountable for the actions of everyone who claims to represent your faith? Trying to blame all of Christianity for the crusades is analogous to blaming all Muslims for Islamic terrorism."

Not all Muslims are fundamentalists, just as not all Christians are fundamentalists. There are a few passages in the Bible that state how one should kill their enemy and their families if they aren't of the Christian religion just as there are passages in the Quran that say roughly the same thing - as well as passages that talk of brotherly love with those that disagree with your religion.

Neither one of these two religions have ever been black or white in their written words, but some of the followers have interpreted the scriptures as they see fit. Everyone that follows Islam or Christianity cannot be painted under the same brush.

That is not true. You need to read a Quran yourself and find what in it.I'm also read a bible to make comparison.otherwise,we all come from Adam And Eve(Hawa). So, why then we quarrel about this.We just make a good brotherhood one for another. There is certain that doing something wrong so don't just go to religious issue.they are billions Islam in the world and just a tiny little pie of Islam's that doing against what islam had taught them.

Mormons are a greater threat than anyone else. They're just too damn happy.

I live here right now. I don't know much the anti-depressant problem, but there are plenty of people in Utah who aren't Mormon as well. Maybe they're the ones taking all the anti-depressants because they get depressed being around all the happy Mormons?
