PR threads split and lock request...

There is a PR update that started yesterday, and due to the overwhelming amount of false alarms that periodically occur, those who noticed it had their threads merged with one from 109 days ago.

Is there any way we could split that thread as I suggested in this post:

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=2902186

The activity being seen now really isn't related to all of the false alarms over the past few months.

There is no pr update yet

I would vote in keeping it all one thread...

No one knows anyhow when the real pr update is so the whole multiple thread thing is just pointless

The one pr thread is great,

Its just a bunch of garbage anyhow....

Go back to work, before you know it the pr bar will update

There is no need for 800 " Hey , But Its me - The Pr UPDATE is real this time "

Because that is what will happen,

Once let you 2 pr threads happen, you get 3, 4, 5, 6, then all of a sudden 200 threads..

    One thread is fine :)

Are you sure members are posting fake screenshots and links?

I strongly agree ... currently that old thread is not looking suitable.

Here are comments what members said there (just today .. if you scan all thread you will find more than enough)

    GUYS!!!!!

    You just don't get it,

Th reason it was all merged is because its all crap.

Yea, so what there are stupid posts,

If they make or let you have more pr update threads the same posts will happen in those threads

    I mean how many

" I don't see changes " threads do we need......

Go back to work, stop worrying about PR :)

Worry about your users and your content and your pr will follow

    Spilt to what?

    1) " I see no changes"

    Vs.

    2) " I see changes BUT I won't share my URL"

    Come on now

It seems your opinion is way more broad compared to scope of opinion/suggestion asked in this thread ...

If you further explain your opinion it will be like .. LOCK all threads ASAP which discuss about Pagerank Update (because its crap) .... and maybe going further to ban that thread starter (OP) :D:D:D

Oh NO.. it should be one PR update thread / season.
Like now its one PR thread/ for life.

Maybe someone trying to show his/her photoshop skills.

But you will find lot real screenshots too for current update.

    1) http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=2899816&postcount=2803
    2) http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=2896117&postcount=2743
    3) http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=2901634&postcount=2840
    4) http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=2893720&postcount=2669
And you can read dozens of members confirming PR update for their sites.
Its not necessary that they should share url with you too.

Right exactly, and with no real proof, it becomes hearsay and that has the value of 0 like the whole pr update thread.....

In addition to what Mong posted immediately above me, there have been several verified URL's showing this behavior. If the only reason you do not think this should be in it's own thread is that you don't believe it is real, then fine, thank you for your opinion. Duly noted.

Are there any mods who have an opinion one way or the other?

Why not just move all the PR threads over to General Chat; they're usually nothing more.

No, the majority of the posts are valid, it's just that when you get threads that long, already filled with meanderings and whatnot, you wind up with a bunch of the following fluff/nonesense/post inflations:

When the threads are more to the point and focused from the get go, then the signal to noise ratio goes up.
