I have a question for the thread starter:

How come the characters in Koran are inconsistent. For instance, the old testament characters are made to time travel and seem to mingle with the characters of Jesus' time.

You say Koran is accurate about science? Is your prophet scientific?

I mean he was sleeping around with nine-year old aisha in the name of marriage. Why is it that all prophets remained with just one or two spouses whereas your prophet was having a go at any woman he came across.

Why is that Islam fails to produce intellects like Judaism does for Jews? Agreed, Judaism is similar to your religion but it's more secular unlike yours which calls to behead unbelievers.

About the Secular aspect of Judaism:
According to traditional Judaism, G-d gave Noah and his family seven commandments to observe when he saved them from the flood. These commandments, referred to as the Noahic or Noahide commandments, are inferred from Genesis Ch. 9, and are as follows: 1) to establish courts of justice; 2) not to commit blasphemy; 3) not to commit idolatry; 4) not to commit incest and adultery; 5) not to commit bloodshed; 6) not to commit robbery; and 7) not to eat flesh cut from a living animal. These commandments are fairly simple and straightforward, and most of them are recognized by most of the world as sound moral principles. Any non-Jew who follows these laws has a place in the world to come.

    Bukhari 7.062.057:
Narrated 'Aisha: Allah's Apostle said (to me), "You were shown to me in a dream. An angel brought you to me, wrapped in a piece of silken cloth, and said to me, 'This is your wife.' I removed the piece of cloth from your face, and there you were. I said to myself. 'If it is from Allah, then it will surely be.' "
The marriage between the holy Prophet and Aisha was consummated when she was 9 years old and he was 54 years young

    @alstar70
did he give any evidence from the Quran or Bible without giving the exact reference?
and why did Dr william campell admit that he couldn't reply any of the errors Dr Zakir pointed out from the Bible?
And if you listened carefully, Dr Zakir did not want to point out this errors, he HAD to because he had to reply to dr campbell. He also said that if any Christian feel hurt because of that, then he's sorry!
And as far as Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) marrying Aisha at such an early age is concerned, its because his friend Abu Bakr gave his daughter to her. Just marrying does not mean he slept with her! In fact, he didn't even have a single child from her!

You obviously didn't even look at the web site link.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Matthew 2411 "Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many"

    Sunan Abu-Dawud Book 41, Number 4915, also Number 4915 and Number 4915
    Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin:
The Apostle of Allah (pbuh) married me when I was seven or six. When we came to Medina, some women came, according to Bishr's version: Umm Ruman came to me when I was swinging. They took me, made me prepared and decorated me. I was then brought to the Apostle of Allah (pbuh), and he took up cohabitation with me when I was nine.

I would understand cohabitation to mean sexual relations?

see also Bukhari vol.V no.236 - The prophet ... married Aisha when she was a girl of six years of age and consummated the marriage when she was nine.

As for the prophet being such a whiz in regards to science he didn't even know what an eclipse was.

Bukhari vol. 2 no. 167 - The sun eclipsed and the prophet jumped up terrified it might be the hour [of judgment].

this is to signify that the Day of Judgement will come with an eclipse. He did this to warn his people that any eclipse could mean the hour of judgement.
the rest i'll answer after refering to a scholar because i am NOT a scholar!

would you quote the whole paragraph for context.

What I think is wrong is the whole debate - the Bible and Quran are RELIGIOUS books, they are not SCIENTIFIC books.

The Bible - which I have read cover to cover several times is a book of history, and prophecy. Prophecy is normally in symbolic language - it should not be taken literally - for example
Rev. 17:3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns."
I don't know about you but I've never meet a literal beast with seven heads and ten horns - THIS IS NOT SCIENCE - this is a religious book, a book of prophecy.

I personally believe in a creator God. I believe in a wide world flood. Why? Because I've seen evidence of this. Shells and sand in mountains, not millions of years old, but relatively fresh which I conclude were caused by such. Others see the same evidence and state its proof of evolution.

Which is wrong the evidence - or the interpretation.

I don't think in the case of the Bible God was trying to teach us a science lesson, God was trying to teach us about his plan of salvation. As such the Bible centers on Jesus - proclaimed as the Messiah (not proclaimed as a prophet).

I'm not sure what the central theme of the Quran is but feel free to enlighten me. You might say the central theme is Allah.

But I would argue that Allah and the Christian God are not the same thing - in one you have the presentation of a God who so loves the world he sent his own son to die.

The presentation of Islam's God seems to be very different - you must obey these seven pillars of Islam to be acceptable to God or you go to hell is diametrically opposed to the Bibles accept Jesus or lose out on salvation. Others might argue Islam's central theme is submission to the will of God. I would argue the will of God is to accept that Jesus' death on the cross atones for their sins and its the path to salvation.

Ok. I'm happy that you are talking logical now.
The theme in Quran is complete submission to God and enforcing peace on the earth of God. The scientific facts given are as a proof for us and for the time to come that Quran really is the final word of God.
I don't say that the Bible is not the word of God, nor does Dr Naik say that. In fact, the Quran mentions the names of the Old Testament, the Bible and one other Book revealed to Prophet David (PBUH). But the Quran says that the Bible was editted by people and is no longer authentic. In Islam, Jesus(PBUH) is the prophet before Muhammad(PBUH).

In Islam, Jesus is the prophet before Muhammad -

this is where the whole disagreement exists - I do not accept Jesus was just a prophet - he is the promised messiah, the Saviour, the truth, way. Such a view therefore concludes that Muhammad is a false prophet. If I accept the Quran then I deny Jesus' atonement for my sins. I do NOT. Jesus is my Saviour.

Romans 3:23-24 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of god, being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in CHRIST JESUS.

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.'

The Bible clearly states salvation is through Jesus - NO OTHER.

As for the Bible being edited. I don't believe it has been edited to an extent that changes its message. In fact that numerous early manuscripts have been discovered and located in Egypt, the papyri fragments which shows remarkable consistency from nearly the earliest times - 200 AD. and earlier. It was written in KONE GREEK (ancient Greek) and it can be read in its original language. In the case of the Old Testament it of course was written in ancient Hebrew and I think the dead sea scrolls show the remarkable lack of change in the Old Testament -people who copied the text did so zealously and would not allow additions.

I think those who argue its been edited are just trying to avoid the glaring contradictions between the Bible's testimony and the Quran - perhaps this is why the Bible is really banned in many Muslim lands - they are afraid their people will read it and realize the the Koran is not a logical advance or superior revelation from God.

(P.S. I have removed my signature links because this is a religious discussion and I'm not partaking in it for commercial gain).

1 John 2:22 "Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ. He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either, he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also."

The Bible sets up Jesus as the sole path to Salvation.

Rom 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."

As such the Bible teaches Salvation through grace

Islam sets up submission to the will of Allah as salvation - mainly through adherence to the seven pillars of Islam.

    It teaches Salvation through works.

the salvation thru grace makes no sense to me. if i know i'm going to be forgiven, why shuold i bother being pious?
if there are 2 people, one a serial killer and one a peace activists. both eventually die. where is the justice? why would the sinner not be punished for his injustice with people?
and the Quran IS Divine. there are too many miracles in it. if you don't believe me, you can read it once yourself. and Muhammad (PBUH) IS the last prophet and there were some false prophets afterwards. If Godforbid he wasnt, then wouldn't God declare which one is the last prophet? who do u think is the last prophet?
God clearly mentions at several places in the Quran that Muhammad (PBUH) is the last prophet and whoever claims prophethood afterwards is a liar.
Also, do you know prophet Abraham prophecised that there will be a prophet from his generations? Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is from his generation.
