In Australia - the top of the line new games were $89 but recently thanks to 3.5% inflation rate (I think not) the new games coming out are at $100. It just trying to squeeze every last cent out of the consumer and I'm not buying at that price.
WOW! that's crazy. I can totally see why you wouldn't pay $100 for a new game. Good call on used games for sure d
Well I've purchased a couple of used games from a little games store down the road (they were $50 off retail) and they were really scratched. So much so that one of them was actually unplayable. I couldn't return them either - they apparently had a strict no-refund policy.
Only buy used games from Gamespot/EB Games or Ebay. Gamespot has a 7 day exchange on bad disks. Hope there's one near you. Otherwise you can order them off their website, www.gamestop.com. Sorry that happened to you.
I was going to ask that same question. I live in the US and the most expensive game I have ever seen was DOOM 3 for $60.
Games can cost you around $60 in the US but if it's an online MMORPG expect to pay another $10 - $15 per month in charges...so it can get pretty expensive if you play online for a year or more. Buying used is the best way to go if you can live with not having the latest hot game for a couple of months...
where have i been? i remeber i used to buy comp games for like $20. i dont play them anymore, well let me rephrase that i dont buy them anymore too many fun games to play online for free
I wouldn't pay $100 for a video game. I know i've wasted money on things in the past.. and I know I will in the future, but I for one don't play video games enough to make the $100 worthwhile. But hey - I LIVE off people who pay that much to video games / online games.. On the other hand, I've paid more than $100 to world of warcraft - subscription. Does that count?
Indirectly, yes it counts. As far as paying $100 just for the game, I wouldn't recommend living in Australia. Good news though, the new Halo 3 collectors edition which comes with a Master Chief helmet and a bunch of extra stuff on DVD is priced at $127. But I mean, you get a freakin helmet. Nice!
yeah downloading from internet is much easier but it takes time to download them.. well i have never yet purchsed any pc game of 100 bucks ...
if the game is worth $100 than i mean why not purchase it?? $100 should seem like pennies if you are running any type of online endevour. but if not, i mean i guess that is way too costly, unless the game had some revolutionary interactive capabilities. if its just a fps or rls, i wouldn't pay so high. everything out there is a scam in one way or another, but if you get enough enjoyment from it you probably wouldn't regret spending $100
I think it sucks, they talk about a "world" economy and globalisation and all that and yet when is comes to selling movies, PC games, electronics, etc the price is artificially inflated in the western countries - i.e. Australia and NZ have PAL - everything comes and only works in PAL so that industrialists make a killing - why should I have to pay more than someone in Hong Kong - it sucks - I already paid too much for housing, food, and now I have to pay more than my next door neighbor country like Indonesia? Its PRICE FIXING plain and simple just PRICE FIXING on a Global Scale.
That was my first thought, but actually I have paid around that much for a game, and it was worth it. I think I paid around £55 for Darkwind for the PS2 and the Gametrak unit which comes with it, when it first came out. If you can't afford a Wii and want to get into exercise gaming, it's a good option. It's helped me get fit, and I can't begin to count the hours I have spent playing it.
