Is there a name for this type of artwork?

Okay, kinda random I know. But is there a name for this type/style of art?

I know what you're reffering to but this is different. What you're talking about uses random characters... this kind is using specific words.

 

It's text art of some kind, but not ascii...

ASCII art has no color, and no lines other then those naturally occurring in the text itself.

Hmmm.... so you guys think that it isn't generated, maybe? Like he did it by hand?

 

i think he just wrote out lots of words, then use a pen to draw the features lines, the ninside those lines changes the colors

 

I don't know how this kind of art is done but it sure looks great!

Don't know if graphic designers have a particular name for this style, but it looks like it could be done with a combination of Illustrator and Photoshop.

but then these are called as ascii art!

 

If you check out alt.ascci-art they'll all agree it's not ascii-art, as there are drawn lines, and colored text, even altered text, as some characters have multiple shades of blue.

With that, the Amercian Standard Code for Information Interchange is in capable of such "art" as it breaks the standard. To be true ASCII art, it needs to be nothing but plain text.
