    Not a bad call from Googles perspective but a bad call from a site design perspective. Marquee tag makes your site look like it was built for geocities in 1998. It's a rather unprofessional tag and just screams 'newbie'.

    hahahah great responses. I love it. I know, the thought of putting a marquee tag in html these days make me cringe. BUT I would love to take on the marquee SEO challenge anyday. Or for that matter, Make a beautiful design with a marquee in it just to spite all the hardcore designers

    Exactly. This doesn't have an effect directly on SEO, but if it makes your site harder to use / less attractive / gives anybody a seizure, other people are less likely to link to the page. A lot of SEO is building a page people will love ... and digg and stumble.

    Personally I do think Marquee tags are quite annoying.
