Hi, I am thinking about new idea for my new site. But I do not want my idea to be copied or stolen by someone and make it more popular than original. What is the most effective method to promote my site with new idea after launched to make the words spread out as much as possible before competitor/copycat come in to the market. - Press Release? - Write buzz words on Digg.com? - Make site reviewed by shoemoney? Please suggest
Before the promotion, get a bunch of blog posts which review your "soon to be released" site: so the idea is out there under your name and anyone who follows after will be seen as a copycat..
Patent it. Look at the million pixel site, he made it. He got on the news and in newspapers because of that. Everyone that made a site like it afterwards failed; mainly because everyone knew it was a clone. Just get your name out there, it will help a lot.
