Hey folks...just thought i would drop a note to let you know I made my first sale today with amazon... it was a 19.99 item and i got 4% which is 80 cents...kinda sucky but its a start
Gratz! If properly targetted, it can do quite well. I accidently found a niche recently which really doesnt make much sense to me but gets many buyers resulting in a good number of commissions. It can only get better
Fantastic... I'm still waiting for mine. How long did it take? How many clicks did you have before an actual sale?
Keep at it! I love this Amazon Stuff!! I started a site last month, and this month it has taken off. 14 sales so far. my first one was a $1200 camera!!! Add up the commission on that!
yeah, and you know what... $.80 isn't that bad if you think about it. If it were adsense it would be $.03, LOL.
Def congrats. I set up an account a while ago, but havent had too much time to put into my sites though. Ive yet to see any sales. At least i have something to look forward to. Good Luck with future sales.
No. He need 28 clicks to make that sale. So with adsense probably their income would be higher (even with only $0.03/click, their income would be=$0.84)
He can always put adsense on his site and make the best of both worlds =p? Or is that not allowed, I do not do affiliate stuff.
There are a lot of downsides to promoting Amazon products, but one thing that I like is that you have a great deal of flexibility in the way you show or promote the product (as, say, opposed to AdSense) so you can experiment a lot more with different techniques. For example, I found that on one of my sites promoting the fact that the books could be bought second-hand was a much better fit to the type of visitors that I was getting. The addition of one simple sentence made my conversion rate go from less than 0.5% to just under 4%. And surprisingly most of the sales are still for the new books, not the second-hand ones. Phlegm...
That's true, but in Eastern Europe, South America, Asia and Africa - The Second Hand is the huge niche (Market)! PS. Check Your stats - geotargeting
