Very Bad Experience with Globat

I had very bad experience with Globat and it has costed me a lot of money and time. I swear by God that I will never do any business with them.

Here is what happened:

1. Around an year back I bought hosting from them (with free 10 addon domains)
2. I hosted all 10 domains with them.
3. After completion of 11 months they charged my account $12 for each additional domain and renew my hosting. They never told me that those 10 domains are hosted free only for one year.
4. I ask them to reverse the transaction because I didn't want to pay $120 extra for the hosting. But they refuse.
5. Now I ask my credit card company to reverse it, they say, they can reverse it but then they need to block my card and need to issue a new card. Which is I think worse then paying $200 to globat.

So I have left with no option.
I have already moved all my sites from Globat.
Its a hard lesson learned for $200.

So, my suggestion: stay away from them.

 

Too bad. That's why u better get VPS or Dedi.
You get control of everything.

Anyway, that's a good lesson.

 

I do have my dedicated servers. But then for various C-class IP addresses, I need to get more and more shared hosting as well. So can't run away from shared hosting. But, now I am far away from Globat for sure.

 

You check webhostingtalk regularly? they might have better offer...
BTW, feel sorry about Globat. Yes, i feel like they're cheating..

 

You paid too much for a lesson. Anyways, did they had any red experiences?

 

globat is horrible. I've got an account there that jsut won't die. They're a mess.

 

globat is one of these "big plans" hosts. But they started to be so much sure about their services and oversellED them... They are slow and support sucks. My friends experiences with them are all bad.

 

Keep away from those which always offer u lot of space/bandwidth and their servers are full of users , i have changed 3 hosting companies and with my current one

I think that you're wrong, some of them are pretty good because 99% of their clients wont use that much BUT Yes you CAN! Why not? All you have to do is avoid tough ToS and do some research. My accounts and my friends at these big hosts works good - transfers from servers are even 1-2 MegaBytes using big "lines" like these at university campuses. Globat is just one of these that started not to care about "anything"!

Why you think it is worse than to pay. I have very bad experience with them. Later I chargeback all of my money with bank. Even a small issue I cancel my card and take a new card from bank

 

I think you should cancel your credit card, because they shouldn't charge you without notice you. I hate this type of company.

 

Globat Sux .. Its like 3-4 Years back .. i purchased a Hosting Account from them .. it was some 5Gb disk space and XYZ Bandwidth .. i uploaded Some important data like 2 -3 GB ...and .. next day my panel was empty .. i was like WTF .. i contacted the Customer Care support .. they told me that it was hardware failure .. and unfortunately they don't have any back up .. they have old backup and that they had uploaded.

 

You were one of those when some company got hardware failure. Many people have coimplained tht Globat informs them about Hardware failure which is like 1 time every 1500 days in a company. Servers(including the hardware) are made such that along with the Linux OS so no data is lost unless a really very very serious condition occurs. They just SUCK your MONEY
