Paypal doesn't authorise exchanges and egold doesn't allow chargebacks, so your money is effectively gone.

Anyways do a thorough research before dealing with somebody. Check his last few posts and Itraders as to how they were acquired

PayPal do not allow exchanges so what they have done isn't exactly wrong. It is on a 50% scale.

That's pretty much why I posted this thread http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=304524 .

You can't do anything about it. Money exchanges are a violation of Paypal Terms and Conditions and with E-Gold all transactions are final. You really should know the risk you entered into. To try to file a complain with Paypal, you may get your account locked for violation.

You can complain to e-gold but since their terms say that all transactions are final, they will not be able to help you in any capacity.

That's why I said, Never Never Ever do E-Gold to Paypal transfers for any reasons especially if you do not know the other party.

e-gold doesn't accept chargebacks. What did the person paying you via Paypal state in his note about the transaction ????

Many scammers hanging around in DP now a days, mostly in the money exchange threads. I also just lost $150 in an affiliate program here, though it's another case

    No.

Also, yes watch out for e-gold scams... I don't trust them at all since most of the time they are! (also watch out for people who add you on msn to ask you for exchages..)

Well in E-gold you could not get any money because they have not a great service like PayPal have. While you can't get money by PayPal chargeback because they does not allowes this transfer.:(

Well e-gold in itself is not bad. The people who are trying to misuse it are bad. I also have a couple of bad experiences but I know its a common story all over.

Anyway, the best thing is do your own research before you deal with anyone with e-gold issues.

i have people adding me all the time, randomly. here is a partial list of what they add me for:

    1) directory submissions (about 87.3%)
    2) spam
    3) asking me to open an e-gold account for them
    4) asking me to unban them/reverse their infractions (trust me i get this once in a while)

I would think that they are attracted by the promise of high returns. I am sure they know in their heart the risks involved but just do not want to believe it would happen to them.
