Apparently I was watching the news yesterday about the gunman of Virginia tech. According to the report Cho bought his weapon (guns) online with the use of a credit card. Now my question is do you think this kind of online stores for weapons and other things related to massive destruction should be investigated and atleast be stopped? It's kinda scary to think that even minors can purchase it...
WHAT! that is crazy i had no idea you could do that.... im not into weapons at all so i guess i could just be out of the loop but this in insane to me...
"A loner with no friends" says the radio station.. trying to describe him.. I was shocked they didn't even look deeply into his mindset (psychological problems like you said)
I think buying weapons only on id is CRAZY Anyway i'm glad in our country is very hard to get a gun ......
Actually, he bought them in a local gun store, using 3 forms of matching ID, and passed the background check. (That last part I'm not sure I understand).
I read news articles saying that he was actulaly of age of buy the guns. In other words, he passed all the legality checks.
I think he went to the store in person. http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1611948,00.html
You can buy a gun "online", but it doesn't just ship to you... like some of you are implying/thinking. It must be shipped to a licensed firearms dealer (FFL). The FFL must process your applications, background checks and waiting periods blablablablabla. Even buying "long rifles" over the internet requires an FFL recieve the gun.
It looks like he ordered the 22-caliber Walther online, but had to pick it up in person: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007...igates/main2708822.shtml?source=mostpop_story
He did go to the store to pick up both guns, and he also had the "gun" card that is required in his state, as well as 2 other matching phot ID's with the same address. I dont think there is an online resource to purchase guns and have them shipped anywhere in the USA - but there are places to buy weapons, just not guns.
