    Heya,

I'm going to launch a tutorial site like Tutorialized within the next week and wanted to populate the database with a few tutorials. If you have any tutorials on your sites you want to link to please do so! I'm currently only accepting linked tutorials but I think that'll be the most popular anyway!

Also any comments/bug reports etc... would be great too! :) Please don't bother mentioning the lack of back/next page links, inability to comment, leave ratings or report broken links as these will be added as soon as I get back!

Please note thought that I'm going to be away for until Sunday evening (GMT) so please be patient if the tutorials aren't reviewed quickly as I might not be able to get access to the internet.

    The link: 911Tutorials

    Thanks,

    Hodge

No-one interested? It really would be a shame if this just crashed and burned as I've spent a lot of time and effort coding this site. :(

For example today I added a RSS feed, search function, and a toolbar for FireFox which I hope will increase visitor loyalty.

Got a long way to go but I really hope some of you will get on board! :)

Why should one post at your tutorial site? What will be his benefit?

I've got a tutorial/article site that's very heavily indexed/trafficed and is PR2 and should go to PR4 or 5 next update as i've got PR7/6/5 backlinks yet nobody wants to submit.

So i'm in the process of removing the submit function and i'll whore the Pagerank myself. When the update happens and the subpages get nice PR, you watch people will want to pay to get an article in it.

Humans are funny things. Best of luck with yours.

Ok there are a few benefits:

    • Increased traffic to your site.
    • Increased exposure for your site. If someone sees a good tutorial on your site then they may explore deeper and you may get increased number of returning visitors.
    • Once I get the user profile pages up, you'll also get backlinks.
    • Increase your reputation within a specific field.

These are of course talking in the long term as I haven't yet had time to promote it heavily (although I'll be purchasing a banner ad later today).

Also you do realize it's only links right? You post links to your tutorials and they get featured on my site.

Oh right... That's a shame about people not embracing your site. I have had a few people come to me and say that tutorial sites aren't really a good option these days. Maybe I missed out on the opportunity but I'm still going to try hard as I custom coded everything from scratch and I'd be annoyed if nothing came of it!!!

Anyway good luck with your site too! :D

I would like to submit my tutorials to more directories, it just seems like I never have the time. I find the process a little tedious, especially when you have to register first. But I'd be happy to submit a couple to both of your directories. Or feel free to grab 'em yourself if I don't get around to it (site is in my sig).

    What's your url, sweetfunny?

EDIT: I guess it's not in my sig yet...here it is: http://www.slicktutorials.com

Just a quick notice to say now would be the best time to submit your tutorials. This is because I stumbled the site a couple of days ago and it's getting a good response.

For example the site has had 43 stumbles (inc mine) so far and has been receiving quite a lot of traffic (see below) because of that.

So if you have tutorials (photoshop, php, html, etc...) now would be the time to submit your best! Try and include a thumbnail as this increases response. :)

Thanks for adding my tuts - I saw a decent amount of traffic from it. I guess it's about time I tried stumbling. Do you want me to submit the rest, or did you already pick the ones you liked?

If you could submit the rest yourself that'd be great. Also if you could add it periodically, opposed to all at once that'd be even better! The reason I say this is because I want the site to have a feel that it's using tutorials from all sorts of sites, not just from 1 site alone :)
