http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/016121.php Wasn't there a post recently where one of our fun loving DP Muslims were claiming Iran wants no trouble?
Killing in the name of god? that's crazy... They should kill in the name of freedom like America does!
A global da'wa? He's just doing what is required of islam. Nothing shocking here. Well, for those that are already aware. For those that make continued excuses in light of the obvious, they are probably saying "damn, we're trying to pull the wool over their eyes and he comes out to tell the truth?" This must be what AGS admires about him.
Where is "Convert or die" mentioned here? Too much of bias avoid you understand what you read. He is an extremist in general, and not really a peace figure, but more bias-free comments, more self-criticism, will lead better convos' here and real solutions in the real world.
There are a lot of muslim countries in western Africa (the Maghreb) and southeastern Asia or countries that are a mixture of muslim and christian that relatively get along with each other (like Sudan). It's dangerous to say that every muslim follows the teachings of the fundamentalist conservatives. Don't forget that 800 years ago fundamentalist christians launched a crusade to convert the peoples in Europe and the Mediterranean or fall under the sword. Christianity had a reform and mellowed out, the same might happen with fundamentalist Islam. That said the guy running Iran seems to be a few cards short of a full deck.
sometimes muslims motto sounds like: "Islam is a religion of peace, but who doesn't belive in this will be killed"
He says to world leaders to get on the path set forth supposedly set forth by the Prophets (Islam) then he says that if they do not get on this path, they will face "death and downfall". Follow the path of Islam (Convert) or face death and downfall. That's the path of distillation that the author of the article has followed.
"Prophets" do not refer Islam, since Islam has 1 prophet. He simply says be nice or we won't be nice either.
Wait a minute. Only one? Don't many Muslim point to Jesus, and Moses as prophets in their own religion, but say that, because he came last, Mohamed was the greatest of their prophets?
I do not say Islam only accepts Mohammed as a prophet, Islam accepts Jesus and Moses as prophets as they are prophets of same god according to Islam, which we call Allah. I am referring to the claim "convert or die" which is not what is meant there. All holy prophets refer to same paths, there is no need to twist every word to find an evil in it. How you look is how you see
Islam does not consider Christianity "monotheistic" because of the trinity doctrine which they don't understand. Don't be ignorant. It's obvious what he's saying when he tells people to be monotheistic for your own safety.
Having prophets and accepting prophets are two different things. And there is no unkown about it. This topic is not about what Islam is about that's why i don't need to tell these. It's just a discussion over a statement and i'm telling what is meant there. About ignorancy; you are so biased you can't even understand what you read, so i find that word funny.
That's interesting, because an Islamic fellow that was trying to convert people earlier specifically said (I may be paraphrasing slightly here) "Jesus is my Prophet" and said that Mohamed claimed that Jesus was very close to him, and was second, as a prophet, only to him. And whether there are prophets, or only a single prophet in Islam is actually very important to this discussion, as you are arguing against "convert or die" partially on your assertion that Islam only has one prophet.
Well in a bias-free, decent religionic discussion, you can say that. But in this kind of debate it's percepted differently. For example in where i live, noone can insult Jesus, people even name their children Jesus(local version of the name - İsa), and this is an Islamic country. I hope you get my point. No, i am saying he is not making a deep comment about Islam's view for early religions when he says "prophets", i am saying he could easily say "convert or else!" rather than implying it, we are talking about someone who kidnaps soldiers and threatens world powers what would he be possibly afraid to say that? He already pissed off enough those who would be pissed to hear that. This really is not such a big deal to talk this much.
He's a leader of a country. Most of them make their intentions clear, but in a way that allows them to then back off of it, or allows others to equivocate over what they meant. He basically said "Follow the prophets" "Be monotheistic" "If you don't, you'll face death and doom."
He did NOT say if you don't, you'll face death and doom. As far I know, Mahmood Ahmedinejad never called anyone "beats walking on two legs". Now, let's see what the "founders" of Israel had to say: The Palestinians are "..beasts walking on two legs." Menahim Begin, speech to the Knesset, quoted in Amnon Kapeliouk, 'Begin and the "Beasts"', New Statesman, 25 June 1982. "When we have settled the land, all the Arabs will be able to do about it will be to scurry around like drugged cockroaches in a bottle." Raphael Eitan, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defence Forces, New York Times, 14 April 1983. "How can we return the occupied territories? There is nobody to return them to."Golda Meir, March 8, 1969. "We must expel Arabs and take their places." David Ben Gurion, future Prime Minister of Israel, 1937, Ben Gurion and the Palestine Arabs, Oxford University Press, 1985. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article15415.htm Prime Minister David Ben Gurion earlier said after Israel brutally expelled the Palestinians from their homes and land in the 1948 war establishing the state of Israel: "We have come and we have stolen their country....We must do everything to insure they (the Palestinians) never do return....(and 10 years earlier had written his son) We will expel the Arabs and take their places....with the force at our disposal." http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article12384.htm David Ben-Gurion told Nahum Goldmann, the president of the World Jewish Congress: If I were an Arab leader I would never make terms with Israel. That is natural: we have taken their country . . . We come from Israel, but two thousand years ago, and what is that to them? There has been anti-semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault? They only see one thing: we have come here and stolen their country. Why should they accept that?
Hence the golden crescent. where does the money go? to the war chest? it seems so. 8 Thai women ‘drug mules’ arrested Hong Kong (dpa) Eight women were arrested over the course of three weeks as they arrived in Hong Kong, carrying six kilogrammes of high-grade heroin with a street value of more than $340,000 - more than 11 million baht.A heroin smuggling syndicate that used Thai women as drug mules to transport drugs from Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan has been smashed, Hong Kong customs officials said Friday. The syndicate got the women to swallow the heroin in capsules or carry inside hidden compartments in their luggage to get it into Hong Kong, a spokesman for the customs department said. Eight women were arrested over the course of three weeks as they arrived in Hong Kong and a total of six kilogrammes of high-grade heroin seized with a street value of more than $340,000. At a press briefing Friday, the spokesman said a transnational syndicate was behind the smuggling of the heroin into Hong Kong, saying it came via India and Bangkok into the former British colony. Thai women recruited as drug mules by the syndicate used about seven different methods to conceal the drugs, ranging from internal consumption to hiding them in hidden compartments in their shoes. The area crossing the borders of Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan where the drugs came from is known as the “Golden Crescent†and is one of the world’s biggest sources of heroin. Hong Kong has in the past been identified as a popular transit point for drugs that are then smuggled on to markets such as Australia.
