well that's the difference, if they are just comments vs. an actual joke. You can make a comment and then say I was only joking - then it not a joke. I like circular reasoning, basically I agree with you!
Thats not funny - thats true. ANyways, I do laugh at racist jokes, but I'm not a racist. As long as its nothing deeply offending I take it light heartedly, even if I am the victim of the jokes. There's a certain border line which you can't cross though without going too far, IMO. A line I try to stay clear of.
yeah i laugh. i love stereotypes in a joking setting. but if the joke leads to a serious racial/political discussion i can't stand when naive people use stereotypes to argue a point because they're not fair.
For me, it's about intent. I think there is a time and place for jokes even if they are racial in nature. Unfortunately, others like to use racial jokes to purposely upset others and are said in settings and at times that are inappropriate, then I have a big problem with it. And as someone mentioned, sometimes we do joke about things we know nothing about and it is without malice but when things get personal such as discussing members of the Rutgers basketball team, then that crosses the line. Just my 2 cents!
I am not a racist either... but what the heck... I love racist jokes (as long as they are funny, not only racist!)
yes...but isnt everyone a little bit racist/prejudiced?? doesnt mean we all go committing hate crimes...but still. sadly, no ones truly colorblind =/
NO, I AM A LITTLE FRENCHIE, I AM FROM FRANCE ! (just kidding, I thought this stuff might be kind of appropriate as we are talking about racist jokes ). No offense intended, my girlfriend is from Quebec too
