I put this on my proxy mailing list (www.massproxy.com)

Is it ok to say that (i wont actually sign them up for spam) or would I get in some kind of trouble?

Not particularly pleasant, but not in anyway illegal I don't think. It's pretty tame as far as threats go!

Sounds like you are threatening people with spam if they block your proxy.

It runs very close to being extortion, if I understand correctly, and yes, that can very well be a crime.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extortion

"Under Federal law extortion can be committed with or without the use of force and with or without the use of a weapon. A key difference is that extortion always involves a written or verbal threat whereas robbery can occur without any verbal or written threat (Refer to U.S.C. 875 and U.S.C. 876)."

The sarcasm really isn't clear to me. If you said this to a person it would be funny, but typing it would probably be bad. Schools also have to take this stuff seriously, since they get bombarded with tons of garbage and spam from every spyware and adware sender on the internet. I think that this might honestly go a little far, and its not really worth any slight risk that it might involve.

You're threatening to sign people up for spam and you want to know if you'll get in trouble?

I'm pretty sure your host will pull your service as soon as they see that for one.

I'd also spend more time on making sure your site actually loads (which I waited 10 secs and it didn't) then threatening people.

Then your data center provider would be the one to complain to, regardless if you threaten people and they're made aware then they have some responsibility if something happens.

Whether it's the host or the data center or the upstream provider is irrelevant.
