Using Custom Avatar

I wanted to put a link to a custom avatar, but I keep getting invalid link, what could I be doing wrong, I dropped the url into a browser and it comes up fine.

Thats because its giving a 404 — File not found. error. Upload it imageshack.us and use that link.

 

whoa, thats strange, I just copied and pasted it again, and the image showed up just fine, I did an F5 and now I see the 404 error. Hmm, I must have something turned on in wordpress blocking it, I will have to check, thanks.

the url is of the same avatar that you have it right now.

anyways, always prefer geocities, for these upload stuffs as it works pretty good

 

Man, I figured out what I did, this has to be a bug in wordpress, I deleted a seperate blog, and it deleted all my uploads for my own blog, even though they each had their own upload folder, anyways, thank God for backups, atleast I only had to restore a few files, and then upload the few I added today.

Thats why the avatar link wasnt working, when I checked it the files were still there, then I deleted that other blog, and then the files were gone, I am so glad I figured this out tonight.

I will try the avatar linking when I am finished restoring

 

Ok, got my little blog restored, everything looks good, but when I try to use the link to the avatar it still gives me invalid url

if you guys copy and paste that url, do you see the image? Yes, it is the same image right now, but thats just for testing

I wouldn't upload an avatar from your own website. You'd hotlink and be using your own bandwidth every time people look at your posts.

You can use any image hosting upload site.
