just posting this email i received as a warning to others: As if our sorry world didn't already have enough rules.... rules....rules....rules..... Why don't people realize, it doesn't have to be this way? BTW: Spare me any "Well you should have read the 'EC Regulation 874/2004' first" comments. Thanks.
You need to be from a .EU country in order to purchase such a domain name as you will need to use an EU address for it.
Yeah, considering the huge number of domains that were registered within the first day of landrush registration launch, it's hard to believe that all registrants were European domainers. So I guess they started to filter the contact information now that .EU registration boom is over.
People who are caught registering EU domains without actually living in Europe or have a representation are cleared out every "x" months.
It doesn't have to be that way. And you don't have to post here, ly2 doesn't have to get a refund, soEvo doesn't have to ask the .eu requirements, and so on and so forth. Rules are there for a reason. You don't follow them, too bad. Complain all you wish. But it won't help you get what you want...unless you're here to just let off some steam.
I'm sure they are aware of that and most of the complaints made for the sole reason you mentioned in your post.. Rules are to be followed, and if one breaks them, consequences are to be supported, we all know that.
Anyone with .name domains should also heed this warning and those are even easier to check! I've seen trading of .name's going on which just isn't wise!
Well what to do. There are people who truly did not know and there are those who knows they are riding on a fine line but yet do it because they thought it would not happen to them.
