Are you transferring to GoDaddy or away from GoDaddy ?

In any case, you will be sent an email to confirm or reject the transfer. You can reject the transfer at that time and you will get your money back in due time once the maximum period allocated to the transfer is expired. If you have already confirm the transfer, there is nothing much you can do about it.

The money paid is not for the transfer but to extend the domain name registration by another 12 months.

Let's just say that Transferring Domains in GoDaddy is a nightmare.

Lock your domain name at the old registrar. Then if you can any emails to confirm or deny the transfer then opt to deny it.

At the same time, write to GoDaddy to ask them to cancel the transfer.

It wasn't that difficult for me at godaddy. I bought a site recently and the domain was at omnis. There you cannot do a free transfer to another omnis account.
So I got it unlocked there, took the key.
Created a transfer request in GD and paid for it. Then In pending transfers section of my accounts, I requested them to send the verification email. It went to the email id mentioned in the whois. It had a security and a cerification code. after putting them the confirmed. After a day they sent an email to the email id again that they need to verify in the omnis account. After it is done, in a couple of minutes, the domain was in my GD account.

Domain transfers at Godaddy have always been easy for me. The most time consuming part was waiting for the current registrar to accept a transfer away to GD, the rest couldn't be easier. Nothing too brain consuming I should say.

Yes, transferring to and from GoDaddy has always been easy. It is only the purchase process in GoDaddy which seems like a hussle when they prompts you with tons of options to add and you just got to be sure you select what you need.
