As far as i know, you arent allowed. As usual, im sure the rules are bent for some publishers. I would recommend just asking google, their support has been very fast the last few days, so you shouldnt have to wait long for a reply.

No, it's against Google's Program Policies for AdSense.

yeah..it's not allowed for newsletters.. i've asked them before.

What some people would suggest is create some sort of archive for your newsletters online and add the adsense there. (not sure if it's ok tho)

No way! The best way is to publish your newsletters online and mass mail the link to it! A way to play it safe!!

It can't be placed in newsletter because you can only place adsense in pages that are available to EVERYONE. So.. this applies to pages to which there is a password protection before entering it aswell (members pages)

Exactly.. that's one of the reason why they can't be "hidden" from the public: including Google .. because there might be illegal text telling them to click on it.

No you cannot. It is aginst their TOS. The reason is as 8everything said, they want their ad to be shown to public. Also, if sent via email it will not be possible to track the the site where it is displayed and check for possible frauds.
