Consider yourself lucky. At least you will not be tempted to buy an ad if you can't connect to their site.
I only read the first page of this thread, so forgive me if this has been asked. Have you emailed them directly? You can find their contact email here: http://www.whois.sc/proxy.org You can also contact them through their contact form here: http://www.proxy.org/contact.shtml
Actually, thing is that.... their proxy list is soooo big that even after rest of the page is loaded... their proxy lists would still be loading. so it shows... connecting.. waiting... etc.
I've been perm banned from proxy.org I asked paypal for a refund, so i know i will be delisted deffo.
Wow... looks like the only way that you can get a reply from him is to hit him in the pocket. I strongly suggest that everyone that has sent him money and received fake traffic to file a buyer complaint with PayPal. If his PayPal account gets canceled at least it will save others from being taken advantage of. Good job Sohan... REp2U
weput, buy traffic and and then complain a week later no, just kidding. This honestly does not seem like something that proxy.org would do. Why would they send you fake traffic? It doesn't benefit them in any way. It seems like a setup by someone else to defame proxy.org's credibility, so that another service could possibly move in.
I can see why you would say this and I can also think of why they would do it. As things boil down in this deal the REALLY frightening thing is that fake traffic is still coming from proxy.org (even if it is coming form a 3rd party) and they are still taking ads from people. THAT is where they are losing credibility.
Well, believe this or not, my traffic has increased after a removal of over 400 domains from proxy.org! Some domains were even paid. I think this benefits me in 2 ways: Chance of getting my adsense back Increased revenue
I've been following this whole Adsense / proxy thing with interest, since I was planning to set up my first proxy this week. Naturally, that's on hold until the situation becomes a little clearer. What do you mean when you say fake traffic is "coming from" proxy.org? Not that I'm disputing it, I'm just curious to know how this is confirmed. Are you seeing dubious traffic where the referer is proxy.org, or does the IP address associated with the traffic suggest that it actually originates from proxy.org or what? Again, I'm not disputing that there's a big problem here somewhere, I'm just thinking about the nature of the problem and ways to defend against it. If the problem is that someone's using the proxy.org list of proxies to attack adsense accounts, and folks delist their sites from proxy.org in self defence, then surely it won't be long before the miscreants start using other lists of proxies to find their victims, if they don't already. That would be a nightmare scenario, as it wouldn't be safe to list a proxy anywhere, and it would be very difficult to filter out undersirable traffic. On the other hand, if the dubious traffic is directly associated with proxy.org, it should be fairly safe to list a proy elsewhere. Which in turn leads to a question: has anyone been affected by this problem who ISN'T listed at proxy.org? Rob.
to what I've heard No. the issue is with the List on proxy.org because that's whats being targeted. so Google seems to be analyzing every site on there and reviewing their earnings. plus since this has happened a lot of the money that was being given to publishers has diminished close to nothing. all this comes from the proxy.org issue. there are other ways of advertising so once this clears up , it will be easier to be in the market since a lot of people are jumping ship. plus proxy.org will probably always be a target so why risk listing your sites on there? is the traffic really worth getting your account possibly banned? Hell no.
I absolutely agree with you - under no circumstances would I run that risk, and I suspect many people would feel the same. My concern is that, if this is the work of a third party, they may simply start using other lists to find and attack proxies. Of course, that depends on their motives - are they out to clear the market for themselves, or discredit proxy.org (assuming they're not directly responsible), or something else altogether? It's hard to tell without further data, and until we know that it will be even harder to devise appropriate defenses - or even know if it's necessary to do that at all. That's why I was asking about traffic "coming from" proxy.org, in the hope that it might give us a clue. Rob.
Proxy.org wasn't the best traffic source for proxies but it was just the easiest destination anyways it wasn't good for a while due to the fact that it was saturated with sites and thus less traffic being sent to every site than the expected rate listed the the advertising page 1,350 hits per day to each of the 10 Top Ten Listings. 460 hits per day to each of the 29 Tier Two Listings. 60 hits per day to each of the 692 Bold Listings. IT was tripple of that rate 3 weeks ago
Ok, so all we are seeing is acusations, over 10 pages of post, but NO proof has been posted by either party? If you know google has this info, why don't you get it from them, have them post it somewhere. Hell, anyone can edit headers of e-mails to make them look like they are from google. Unbelievable this thread can drag on for this long, with NO proof? Best of luck Oh and by the way, if you think just removing the site from the list is enough, what if they are forging referers. If they have the list cached, they will still be hitting your site. They could be faking the referer, they could search on more on google. They could get people to add ones they have heard of, if you really want to keep your adsense account. Just jump off the train.
