So, not only invalid clicks can be monitored. If you just trying to mouse-over on the ads, you'll be tracked!
Wow. Anyone can confirm this themself by right clicking an ad title and getting the location url. Paste this into notepad then run the mouse over the ad a few times. Get the location url again and you can see the number at the end of the url has gone up.
Do you think they are tracking allll onmouseover ? this is what i got for few seconds interval nm=19 nm=232 nm=263 nm=275 nm=280 nm=285
wow, that's rather interesting...why in the world would they need to know this..lol...guess they really are trying to take over the internet..lol
they can maybe test click ration mouse over / click , how many time users passed without clicking .. you know Google want to know everything you're doing
there haven't been any annoucements or mentions of it officially from google...so it'll all just be guesses at this point
i used to get the url of the ads from the mouse overs, on the taskbar the url is displayed and i used to just watch it there, and type in the browser to get the site. i don't think google should count it as click froad, but then perhaps i should stay away from my ads, that's the best way to be safe! thanks for the info
Don't understand what this would be good for - they can start tracking as soon as the adsense ad/frame is loaded!
google should allow publishers to have a limit per month they can click on their own ads...some of them look tempting...and it'd be so much easier to just click to get to it...lol
if this thread is factual, you don't really expect google to own up to it, do you? mousing over your ads is not fraudulent behavior, of course, because there are no clicks, so the advertisers is not charged. what people are describing here is some kind of a timer?? it sounds like another form of eye-tracking; something that lets google know how long you are on the page, and what part of the page you were on, via your mouse location.
You guys might be right. Google is definitely up to something. Man, google is watching us all the time 'eh I noticed my adlogger stats also reported more clicks than in my adsense account, could this be from that mouse over?
So beware, you guys. Don't simply play with it. I'm afraid, the weightage of mouse-overing being put into calculation. But that's not considered fraud. Ah... I don't know what Google is thinking right now..
This is the first time I heard of this. Even if Google tracks the mouse-over ads, I don't think there's any money involved in it.
