Backorder the name with Snapnames, Pool, Godaddy, Enomclubdrop, but there's no guarantees you'll get it if there's lots of interested parties, it'll be an auction

    Here's some tips.

See if the registrar where the domain is registered offers Backordering service. If so, go for it. At GoDaddy and eNom you will surely find what I am talking about.

If registrar does not have backordering, use Snapnames or Pool.

Some registars do hold auctions for the deleted domains. Whoever wins gets the domain. If you want the domain bad, then go auction for it.

Depends on the name, you can save lots of money just monitoriing closely for immediate registration. Sometimes the "sharks" can retain it for up to five days but eventually release it.

I have registered lots of domains this way witihout needing to pay backorders, unless it is a premium domain name, in which case don't take the risk and backorder it

Valuable domain names usually don't even actually "expire" and you don't get a chance to see it available for registration. That's because domain grabbers won't let that happen. I won't even try to watch it be released to public registration.

There was actually a domain I wanted and was up for bid at moniker. When i bid on it, it has a minimum bid of requirement of $400. But the domain has been available since 2003 and not being used. I wonder if it will ever get released.
