Hello, I purchased a domain off of tdnam and thought that the guy had it with godaddy.com. He doesn't and it's with Enom. I went to their website and it appears to transfer it to Godaddy it will be $29.95. Is there a way around this... You know a cheaper route to go? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Normally, a transfer extends the domain's expiry date to 1 full year so you don't actually lose money unless there's extra charges involved. Does eNom charge you to transfer a domain away? That service should be free at a reputable registrar.
Why don't you keep it @ Enom until close to expiry, then transfer out to Godaddy if you don't wanna pay the extra fee now?
It doesn't really matter when you do the transfer since Godaddy will extend the expiry date with 1 full year anyway.
I'm stuck with a domain name with enom too. >_< Godaddy charges $9 per year for domain registration but enom charges $30!! I want to transfer to godaddy but I didn't realise enom had that fee.
Enom does almost all it's business thru its resellers who sell domains for $8-9. Enom charges $28 to customers it deals with directly so it doesn't compete with its resellers. Even though the WHOIS says Enom the domain is likely thru a reseller so you will be paying $8-9. Open an account thru an Enom reseller (ie namezoom.com) and have the seller push from his Enom account to yours. (i believe there is no fee to move domains between Enom accounts). If you are moving the name from Enom to Godaddy you pay GoDaddy's $6.95 transfer fee not Enom's.
Yes, that's pretty much about the $6,95 transfer fee you have to pay at Godaddy. Unless eNom charges anything to transfer domains away from them which I haven't heard of.
