It is possible. I remember when blacks in Crown Heights attacked Koreans and Asians in general regularly. I saw one victim was black BTW which may have little to do with it.

If you live in an area where racial tension is a problem already its possible. I'm white and I have no animosity towards any Asians, never have, always liked them for the most part, and for me this event has nothing to do with his being Asian.

Asian kids aren't playing the "all" card and making excuses for Asians that strap bombs to themselves and blow innocent people up on a regular basis.

Oh right, people don't have issues with Asians because Asians don't do that stuff.

So no, everyone knows it's not an Asian problem.

I wouldn't say that it isn't a possibility, but I don't personally think that retaliation will happen. It doesn't really appear like race was a large aspect of the shootings, so I don't think that their will be a strong racial reaction.

You're getting ahead of yourself johnny. You have to wait until actual victimization happens before you can declare victimhood.

islam is not a race. it's a cult, made up of many different races.

As to the original question, who knows. Anything is possible, but I doubt it. I lived in Korea for a year, I know many Koreans. This is not even remotely representative of them in the least bit. Zilch, zero, nothing. It's clear there were outside influences on this person. What those are...we'll be seeing in the days to come.

    No, not a chance.

Well Johnny, give the Koreans some more time. They only have 32 under their belt. Once they get up into the 1000's then we will see a change. Your brothers are way ahead of them in the death count. :)

    Exactly

I think we all know what those influences were ;)

    Probably (hopefully) not...
I don't think Americans are that narrow minded.

Exactly. Even after 9/11 there was no attacks on Muslims/Middle Eastern People

Sure a few isolated incidents, but nothing major.

Agreed. We are not like middle eastern countries. There will be no mass riots, burning of embassies, torching cars, burning effigies, carrying signs that say "kill those Koreans" and "death to Korea." No stampedes, rock chunking, firing ak-47s into the air. No large gatherings of bearded men who are not familiar with deoderant and personal hygiene chanting "God is great." No burning buildings, killing each other in rage, overturned cars, calls for religious figures to be beheaded.

We are infidel, we are civilized.

He was more or less raised in the US so I don't think his place of birth should be relevant.

So in your mind, what do 'Asians do'?

    What do Americans do?

Asians don't 'do' anything. They have melted into our society and contributed to our country. Some other races and religions should try and follow the same path :)

Yes. I do think so. Following the bombing of pearl harbor, there was rampant predjudice against people of south-east Asian descent. Some people alive from that time, and some of their children likely still harbor that resentment.

That's different story. It was a war, and this is just a shooting. I don't know if it is me

i don't think there will be trouble. However, everyone will afraid that "Asian kid who never talk"

Everyone pick on the weak. Asian get rob by African American in New York everyday cause they are easy(never fight back) and don't want trouble (most never report to police)

I am Asian, works in Newark and used to live in Paterson for years and no one give me trouble. i am kind of big and looks more like Mexican than Asian:D.

That was a war, it's not the same. You know it's not the same, you're just trying to spread your anti-American nonsense.

We are at war with Iraq right now, do you see us rounding up Arabs? No.

Anti... American... nonsense? Wow. That's the first time I've been accused of that in a long long time.

And no, it's not different. The topic of discussion is if we think some white guy out there might go attack a bunch of Asian people. My answer is yes, and my reason is that there is prejudice everywhere. I also think that there are white people (Aka clansman) that would go around shooting black people. And I think that there are black people that would go around shooting white people because of their hate.

And I think there are loads of people everywhere that would wind up shooting people because they go off the handle, or are on drugs, and then don't care what race they shoot as long as they inflict suffering, and will be remembered before they commit suicide.

Oh, and by the way, yes, following 9/11 there was a marked increase in hate crimes against Arabs, and people that looked like they -might- be Arabs.

The cause of these crimes is not the perpitrator's person's race. It's ignorance, fear, hate, and plain out derangement.

For the record, I am an American. I love my country. I just hate the intolerance of certain people in it.

I have studied history, including what was done to certain unpopular groups in the past. I have done so, so that I will not be a part of the problem of these problems happening -again-.
