I am going to be writing an guide on domain names and moneytizing them. Are their any topics which people think should be included or would like to know more about? If so please post it here so I can possibly write about it
Sure. Is the author who is going to be writing this guide credible? Give us a little background of yourself.
I should have said I will be "creating" It will actually be a combination of writers each specialing in a certain topic. Maybe you would like to write a part?...though you would have to be a credible person and we need some background on you as well.
how to pick a name! how to use the control panels on different registers! how to pick good keyword domains. the advantages and disadvantages of use a dash in the name. I dunno I'm just throwing stuff out there. Good luck with the book
YES! hardly anyone has any good information about backordering/drop catches. Would be helpful to some.
i think you guys should concentrate on the following Choosing Names Registration Drop Catching Buying Names (after market) Domain Income Selling Names (reseller and end user)
For webmasters / domainers there's already heaps of guides. What would probably be useful, and let me know if it exists somewhere, is a guide for complete beginners - SME owners, managers, etc. Something that explains not just how to select a name, but where to register it, what are their rights in regards to trademarks, how to buy a domain on a secondary market, what are reliable marketplaces, how to value domains, how to avoid fraud when buying domains, how to transfer domains, etc. And if you could write all that in no more than 3 pages with plenty of images for easy reading, that would be great. That could be a sub-project of your project. I'd pay some amount for a nice guide like that.
A couple of years ago, after the INFO giveaway, MyDomain.com had a section with illustrated information on expiration, redemption and deletion processs. Such kind of information could be very useful in a project like this, no idea if that info is still available though.
