Of course, you aren't hearing much about this guy from the media. They are busy finding someone to blame for the shootings like the college president or guns.

Yeah, it's really a shame. A honorable hero who has seen more than his fair share in life, and already the media has forgotten the shooter and is going after everyone else.

I'll never understand what makes a human mind think that way. It has to be a mental disorder.

That is what happens when resentments, hatred and anger get out of control.

People, places and institutions are the usual targets of anger. Posters right here fuel the fire everyday, you know who I'm talking about.

Call it evil, a disorder or whatever but it's all the same, he let it take over.

Probably because he was in the holocaust and earned his 'pair' during that time :D

Then again, according to some, the holocaust never happen. So who knows

I'm sure he had experienced more pain and suffering in several years (during the war) than we would see or know in 10 lifetimes.

Tallman: No. I'm sure that we could see and know that much pain, if we do not keep careful watch over our respective governments, and allow the mistakes of the past to be repeated.

If? You use lots of "ifs" don't you? I pointed these out a while back.

Everything seems to be a hypothetical with you. Taking the easy road, eh?

No GTech. I'm not taking the easy road. I do keep watch over our government. Unfortunately many do not, and the trend is that more and more people are becoming disaffected with the American government.

I dearly hope that the trend will reverse it's self and that people will become more involved with their governments. However I do not know if that will happen or not. Any time someone discusses the future, to say that they know the outcome in full certainty is arrogance.

Someone said they doubted that we could see as much pain as in the holocaust, and I said that I believed there were some things that might lead us down the road to something similar happening.

This is speculation, because we're talking about the future. However simply saying "that could never happen" and not doing any kind of research into the past, to help prevent the repetition of mistakes is the easy rout.

Josh, has nothing to do with the constant use of "if" in making points.

If tuna ceases to exist, we have no more tuna sandwhiches.

It's nothing more than a qualifier of doubt.

No. It's me admitting that I don't know what the future holds.

(Edit) On second thought, you're right, in many cases, it is a qualifier of doubt. I don't know what the future brings, so I use if as a part of my projections to say 'this is what I think may happen, but I'm not sure'. It also shows that some of my projections are based on other assumptions, which aren't going to come to pass. It is not certain that the trend towards disaffectation with our government will continue. So I show doubt. (end edit)

In any case, I have heard some things about this fellow on the news, how he died protecting students, but the article is the first time I heard how. He actually physically blocked the door to the shooter.

Thank you for the article about such a brave brave man ly2.

I am sorry. I did not know that this word was so saint that you could not put it between quotes.

I am NOT a holocaust denier.
Denying the holocaust is THE most heinoust and serious crime someone can ever committ.
I am a holocaust believer. I believe that - not 6 million - but 35 million jews die during the holocaust (see, I go further than most people). And I fully suppport the right of every holocaust survivor and their descendants to kill palestinians and steal palestinian land at will.

That makes one of the good guys.

Sure, now, let's go kill some palestinians and confiscate their lands. And if they dare to defend themselves, we'll call them vile terrorists and fire missiles on them.
Let's nuke Iran. Let's kill all the muslims. Long live Israel.

They don't have lands. They are occupying part of Israel. Israel was Israel long before islam was invented. Strapping on a suicide belt is not defensive. It's offensive. And they don't get virgins for suicide either, no matter how clerics try to make it seem so.

Let's nuke Israel. Let's kill all the Jews. Long live Iran!
