So if not Frontpage what?

Okay so I've been using Frontpage for years ... I know!
I would like to use some other design software but I guess it's easier to stay with what you know.
I've checked out Dreamweaver in the past but dumped it fairly quickly as being too time consuming to learn.
So I guess my question is, what would you recommend as an easier replacement for Frontpage to be learned/used by a real "grandad"?
    TIA

If you are comfortable with frontpage, by all means use it. Just be care not to use the built in formating tools. If you must use the tools, make sure you go over the code and put as much as your can into a style sheet.

One grand-dad to another. I still use FP with none of the extension stuff to whip out some html. Most of what I do at the present time is php stuff. I save the FP html version and then open and edit it in notepad2 to make it work well with php.

As I try to move away from tables and to css using divs, I find I use FP less and less.

So you have, you know, keep on using it.

If you are serious about web design, get Dreamweaver.

Microsoft's new Expression Web is replacing FrontPage, and I have to say, it's light years ahead. It's better than Dreamweaver, actually. Hard to admit, but true. The problem with DW is there's a steep learning curve, related to the software UI, not html itself. If you want to do something specific in DW, unless you know the software inside and out, it can be faster to just type out the html than to find the right menu item. The new MSFT app has a property sheet listing out all the attributes and events available for any element, so you can do things the purely mouse-driven way, or somewhere in between.

Dreamveawer has all you need.. design and programming part..but i don`t like the programming part .. i prefer to make it by hand using an editor, but for design stuff and putting together a layouts DW is the best and simpler program ever.
To be honest FrontPage creates a very nasty code for the websites.. sometimes its very bad for Search engines to crowl your website because it mix the tags and its a total chaos in the code.
You can find very many tutorials for DW ( Dreamweaver ) on the net, make a simple search on google and you`ll find as many as you need i`m sure.
Also note that DW has some extensions that will make you work even simpler and are free (not all) over the internet and on adobe website in the DW section.
I wish you good luck in choosing the best program for web develop that will fulfill your needs!

    Regards,
    Cris

I find Notepad to be the best to write it all out myself. I found that Frontpage, Dreamweaver etc limited you to only do things that the specific software is able to handle. Plus the fact that Notepad, you do it all yourself therefor you are always learning. :) Good luck finding your new program.
