    Ήρθαμε! Am sosit!

We're happy to announce that we've just expanded our product offerings for two long-awaited languages: Greek and Romanian. Starting today, Greek and Romanian publishers can monetize their content by displaying targeted AdSense for content ads on their pages. As an added bonus, Romanian publishers can now implement AdSense for search as well.

If you're ready to get started with these languages, just log in to your AdSense account and follow the wizard located under the AdSense Setup tab. You can also contact the Greek team at and the Romanian team at with additional questions.

    After "test-driving" the Romanian version:

To be honest, the English version looks tidier and the CPM explanation in Romanian sounds weird so I'll stick to English for now. ;)

But good news for Romanian webmasters who don't know English... (only a few of these though)

yea well, it's not really worthy making a romanian site with romanian ads on it. you'll only get $0.01/click unless it is Real Estate or Travel site where you get $0.05. anyway, this is a good news because sounds more like a vote of trust since until now Romania was in untrusted sites in Google Adsense/Adwords (counting invalid clicks, many webmasters being banned because of this).

IMO Romania will be added last to PayPal's list, but maybe I'm wrong.

we had PayPal one upon a time but were banned. now I'm thinking since we've joined the EU and in the last 6-7 years the internet market strenght in our country grew like 20 times since the days we were having paypal.. Romania might be added this summer in the list or in the end of 2007. we'll see

As long as you've got unused space on your website, knowing that AdSense is an option to monetize that space is definitely a good news, even if revenue isn't consistent at the moment. Accepting Greek and Romanian content is a step towards the better, you will probably watch higher payout rates in time, it's only the start.

    Good luck!

IDNs are a neglected gold mine. I possibly just stabbed myself in the back, but so be it. Google idn wiki for more information.

Now you are on your own... ;)

*I am using the term neglected very loosely since people have started catching on.
Check Domain Journal -> Moscow.com just sold for $16,000

    16. xn--80adxhks.com (IDN)
(puny code for "Moscow" in Russian language) $16,000 Afternic/
    BuyDomains

    http://www.dnjournal.com/domainsales.htm

    ____________

I park my IDNs at Namedrive; they get geo-targeted ads with different languages showing as menus which makes them much more wonderful ;) But for Greek IDNs sites can actually be built and add Adsense on them.

You mean I could get a domain name like Τεχνολογια.com (technology) or φωτογραφίες.com (photographs) and develop with Adsense now? Thank goodness I picked those up!

Now, if Adsense could release ads in Arabic, I would be a happy camper. I found me some schweeeeeet Arabic IDNs.
