Recently purchased a used domain ( no page rank, traffic, nor backlinks ) for the purpose of avoiding the sandbox with a new client. Being that Google is smart, will the new website/domain be penalized for changing ownership 3 times?

Did the site change three times (or just ownership?) and did it Ever drop?
That is what makes me leary of names or site buys with so many ownership chnages.

Google does not keep records of domain ownership changes, and details as such do not affect a website's ranking status. Content is king.

If the name didn't drop, then it shouldn't be an issue

I picked it up on the deleted / expired list....is that a negative factor?
