Alright guys, My online stopwatch site is now getting over 1000 unique hits a day. I know that 1000 hits can make some money on adsense, but i really dont want to slap big ads on there, i think guests like how simple the site is, some have even emailed and said they like how clean it is. Trouble is, any extra money is good -- i dont want to upset visitors, but i would like to earn somthing. What do you suggest? Where would you put it? What pages? Cheers for any help. site: http://www.online-stopwatch.com
Are you getting 1,000 hits or 1,000 unique visitors? BIG DIFFERENCE! Regardless, you have a right to put ads up on your site . . . just don't be obnoxious about it!
if i was you i would put adsence on it It would make you some extra cash you know. Money is cool Adsence + 1,000 visitors = a little bit of cash so....
Between the bottom blue bar and the buttons at the very bottom a 468 Adsense link bar should fit and work very nicely. You'd be supprised how much you could make from this little link. Good luck!
Let me explain two things to you since nobody has bothered to point them out to you. Your site is very cool, but there is very little actual content. This makes it hard to make money with Google Adsense ads because google will either remove them or show ads that won't make you much money. The keywords you would get ads for are not high paying keywords so you might make a few dollars a day with a block of adsense, but I have a better suggestion. At the bottom and top of your page create links to other sites that you can create yourself. Maybe focus on fitness, weight loss, or workout type of sites and write a short 300-600 word article about the topic. Then, put 2 adsense codes on it, one at the very top and one along the left side. The 160 x 600 works well along the side and the large rectangle across the top. You can also go to clickbank.com(free to sign up) and pick out a few affilaite products to add to your little sites. You can put links to these products at the bottom of your page and make the title a link as well. Then, maybe throw one more link on a keyword right in the middle of the article. If you did 5 of these and put links across the top and bottom of your page it will still look very clean and you will have something there that can make you quite a bit of extra money with adsense and the clickbank sales. This might take you a little longer, but it will be worth it in the end. You can start with one link and build it up. If you have created a list from your website somehow ask your visitors what they are most interested in and you can create your little sites around that. Good Luck, Benjamin
i have found a blog post about adsense alternatives . the url is http://www.listposts.com/listings/google-adsense-alternatives/ . this may help you
1000 uniques, 2000 hits Your right! that would fit about right there -- but my site is used by teachers/students/etc. I still dont know if should put ads on the site. Right now, its being used in classrooms -- i've got some nice emails from people saying how they like it. The site is also building up ".edu" links. I dont want to risk people not linking to it, or not using it just to make some money. You have given me very good ideas, but the site gets very targeted visitors, everyone one of them either uses the site by typing it into the addressbar, or just searching for an online stopwatch on google. I could build up links, but im trying to keep it simple. trichnosis -- that is a great list of alternatives. cheers. Any more advice on what others would do to make some money with this site? I was thinking about selling links, but its only a PR3, so thats not any good really. Cheers. (p.s rep given to everyone Cheers)
That is even better that you get very targeted visitors. My advice would be to put a small form on the website for a couple weeks to run a survey. Simply ask what your visitors would rather see you put on your site and give them 2-5 options to choose from. Then you will have an idea of what they are looking for. There has to be a need that this niche is after and all you have to do is find that, link to it, and make some money. Good luck, Benjamin
I'm not a huge fan of Adsense. I find that it pays pennies compared to other ways of monetizing a site. I'd suggest doing some affiliate marketing for related products. Perhaps put a tiny ad up or a popular site that sells related products, or perhaps even write about it a bit yourself? Brian
I have to disagree with this, some people are making hundreds a day with adsense though (rare). But yes there are other ways such as affiliate programs.... but still, it depends on your site's niche.
