Hi all, just thought i'd brag away. I got my first 100,000 hits! Whoo.. took longer than I thought but oh well. The site has been online since 27th January, so it's not that bad going heh!
Thanks everyone... my bad I was going off my hit counter still... 100,000 since jan isn't too bad even if it is just page impressions. I know hit's arn't everything it's an achievement. Next stop.... 500,000 www.myspace4yourpage.com
Adsense is pretty low at the moment, average around $10 a day. I use adbrite & valueclickmedia too. I didn't start the site for money though, it was mainly to gain experiance and to fill my time. The money is just a added bonus! I've started making a few subdomain sites... a myspace image hosting site and another myspace resource site, but i'm concentrating more on the main site for now!
8everything yeah it's not a bad idea, but my PR is still 0 and i've been looking for link exchanges on here for a while but people seem reluctant to exchange. I started this project as some what of a beginner, but since I started it i've been researching SEO, php, sql... it's great! I would love nothing better than to make a living this way now. Nothing too greedy just enough to live on would do me fine! Sukantab, the link is www.myspace4yourpage.com thanks again everyone.
Work on PR! I'm sure on the next update you'll recieve something.. but you can still attempt to sell links.. people may purchase some because of 1) the potential 2) good traffic
Yeah, not a bad idea at all. How would you market it if it was you 8everything? E.g. pricing, time, per imperssion? It's a new thing that i've never really thought of.
Not sure about pricing.. but I would sell it per monthly basis so as your traffic goes higher and higher you can charge more and more per month. Try selling it here on DP!
zerosleep, sorry I missed your post. The main source of traffic was from an exchange with panicked.nuclearcentury.com they are a great exchange! Other sources are from targetted keywords. I get quite a few hits in from google now, which is great because that's the ladder I want to be climbing! I think mostly it's persistance that's paid off the most. Held my head up on bad days, stuck with it, and adding lots of new content works too!
