Work as a freelancer from where you are now!

Living expenses are cheaper, plus it will be difficult for you to get into the US to work.

I have to agree w/ pangea... living here is tough. Immigrants w/ skills (I'm generalizing here) and degrees don't often work at whatever profession they should be... cost of living is much more expensive in the states. Any particular reason for wanting to relocate?

 I thought its mainly because its a land of opportunities ... worse thing would be to end up at a foot joint down there..

The lure of the land of opportunities. Earn in USD. The rupee dollar rate is one of the reasons :)

Ofcourse, he needs to be careful- the grass always looks greener on the other side, but when you come to the other side..........;)

I'm not sure a 2 year experience might get him an offer later, but I am not aware of immigration laws- so can't comment on that

SEO is hard to find a job down there.... I mean there is discrimination (we have PSA ads about this last season: immigrants w/ Masters working in Fastfood joints.. its the sad reality)

I guess 8everything is right... It's really tough out there... A lot of competition... You need to be wise to stand out... You can work remotely from your place right now... SEO could be done remotely... Good thing there is internet... :)

But if he really wants to relocate, good luck then... ;)

Are you outside of US now? If yes, work freelance for big company. That's the only way unless you are big time SEO.

Also, this year's H1 visa quota is full. The fastest you can get one is April next year

    Ha!
Maybe he should be coming to the UK after the last couple of years with the $ almost going down to half the value of the £!

Works well for me when I quote prices in £ to US customers....not so much the other way though.

Try to find other forum, for example about visas or/and relocation.

P.S. I hope you take in mind when above guys says it's hard they mean (in first) not to increase compete for themselves. Cause SEO working in USA firm sounds more serious than indian SEO freelancer, that's why they suggest it to you, don't listen anyone and good luck!
