    Hello all,

    It is one thing that is not easily distinguishable on here...

    Who is male and who is female!

    So, I put this Question to you;

    Who is better at MARKETING?

    WOMEN or MEN?

    Please state which one you are (M/F),
    with your post, and if you think you
    are a "Marketing GURU" you may just
    get the chance to prove it in a
    CHALLENGE devised for
    5 WOMEN, and 5 MEN......
    but first, lets see what you have to say!

    It would be to your advantage,
    to say what your expertise is
    and whether you would like
    the opportunity to prove it
    with your comments also.

    What is you opinion?

    Are you stupid or something? It doesn't mather what sex you are, just how good you are at marketing.

    Lets face it, if the marketing was done in perton via interview and the audience is male then of course women have an advantage, especially if they are gorgeous.

    If I was at a seminar and there was a speaker giving a sales pitch to me and the audience I know Id listen to a gorgeous female than a guy. Such is life!

    lol

    Very Interesting point! Rep added
    In Internet marketing, I think, there is no big difference, as the most of us don't work in a team but alone. Some years ago, I worked for an advertising company and the women there were the better marketers, for many reasons, like their social sensitivity. They work better in a team, but if we are only talking about the marketing skills of people who work alone, then I think it makes no difference. Or let's say it also depends on the audience you want to target. I can imagine that man related niches could be marketed better by man and women related niches could be marketed better by women.

    So you're saying that this possible contest is biased before it even begins. :eek:

    Probably true though.

    Overall I agree with Cypherus on this one. There will be female marketers who are better than many male marketers just as there will be male marketers who are better than many female marketers.

    yes definitely it is biased. Think abt it, women appeal better to man AND woman. A woman will generally feel less threatened/intimidated when talking to a woman.

    The advantages of a woman talking to a man need not be emphasized again...

    usually, i bang phones or pass a rude comment if i get a spam call (telemarketting call) if its a guy and if there's a female, i politely (usually apologetically) say i am not interested. :D.

    So, females do have an upperhand if they are trying to sell something themselves.

    But, there aint like who is good at making marketing strategies, its completely dependent on the individual.

    A tip; if you want to contribute value, do it respectfully.
    Social skills are exactly what this is about! do you think anyone
    would want to work with someone who starts a sentence with
    "Are you stupid or something?" I think you know the answer to that!

    1.I asked for opinions (from men & women)
    2.I didn't "declare" that there is a defined answer to the topic.
    Nor have I declared my own view;
    my opinion is not important-- the broad range of member views is.
    No matter whether others agree or disagree with posts.
    3. I did not ASK is "a" man better than "a" woman,
    Are WOMEN or MEN better
    (general gender 2 gender overall business related opinions)

    Of course I expect devisive and diverse opinions, there
    will always be based on different business experiences/backgrounds/culture etc.

    This is post is designed to gather many opinions,
    Not declare a definative population/gender difference period.
    Just your own validated personal experience/preferences:)

    :D Now, back to the topic;

    If you have a very well rounded perspective of business,
    You will know that both Men and Women have advantages,
    and disadvantages in different circumstances.

    Some posts have pointed out some of these. Thx for intelligent input!

    What I am really interested in seeing;
    Is women and men who believe they personally,
    have an advantage over the other sex when they
    work in a team of all MEN or all WOMEN.
    This format for competing is not new,
    think "battle of the sexes".
    It is about Bragging rights, teamwork;

    Business success is about competitive advantage( Marketing as example)
    You may work alone in marketing currently,
    But would you personally think that you
    would work better in a team of the same sex?

    This is about relationships, communication
    and your personal experience/preference.
    It has nothing to do with are ALL women
    better than ALL men or vice versa. I can't see
    how anyone can even consider that angle
    in the first place:eek:

    Men and women do have different ways of
    approaching things when grouped together,

    Who works better as a team?

    E.g..

    If you had two choices of Marketing teams
    A) all women B) all men

    Which one would you choose to market
    your business?

    Ok,

    Hope that provides some more
    stimulous for debate and broad
    opinions...

    I am watching the responses with
    a careful eye for some special
    qualities & charachteristics....

    There is no right or wrong answer
    only honest opinions wanted.(about the topic!)

    Thx

    Gender doesn't matter. I don't see a reason why there will be. Same here, I don't see the reason for this thread.

    Gender makes no difference... but if you are trying to market to females, of course a female marketer is better and vice versa.

    Interesting point of view - indeed, I've never thought about it so far...

    Indeed, depends on what type of marketing you are in. Marketing, we all know, is so broad. If any type of visual/audio contact is needed, definitely women are most often much more successful than men - the reasons are obvious.
    If the question is about internet marketing - I don't think gender matters really.:)
