I am trying to increase traffic but can't seem to figure out what to do, and how to generate income, just stick to adsense? What else can I use?

You have to write lot of unique and interesting contents..
Then for traffic, you have to buy banner ads..

And to increase Pagerank, you need to buy lot of backlinsk from relevant health sites.

Write some 500 word articles and submit them to websites that specialize in hosting articles. If you don't feel comfortable writing the articles yourself, head on over to the Content Creation forum on here and look for an article writer. There are lots of good ones around (like myself.)

You could also post new articles on your blog and then submit then to social networking websites like Digg, Reddit, etc.

Do some research and find out what other health websites and blogs are out there, then register and participate in their discussions. Share the link to your blog and gain new readers.

Finally, come up with something cool and interesting to attract new readers like "30 Days To Get Healthy" and do daily reports about what it is that you're doing. Think outside the box and people will come.

Excellent, this is exactly what should be done first.

Also, just to add: don't forget to SEO your site (organic traffic is always the best!) So remember to use <h1> tags and such !

    Keep posting quality material.
Get the MyBlogLog plugin and install it on your site.
    Use it to network.
Leave comments on other, related blogs.
    Get involved in blog carnivals.

Give it some time and you'll see growth. Paying for links is not the way to do it (a waste in my book)

Shouldn't I wait for more traffic to install a MyBlogLog, and I've tried submitted articles to carnivals, but never got any traffic out of it.

No, don't wait. MBL is a social site. Use it to browse other blogs and leave comments. It works well for traffic. As for carnivals, they are good for backlinks. Try hosting one . . . that works best fo traffic.
