I generally say social bookmarking sucks, not because it doesn't deliver traffic (it can and does), but the traffic is worthless. Digg traffic doesn't buy product or click advertisements. Stumble upon is much the same.

Traffic is very much different from targeted traffic. People should not just come and check out the site. There are different level of precision you could achieve from targeted traffic. Most of the people from stumble etc. are there to read your article and have fun. There is no hurry or urgency of information for them. And most of them are familiar with Adsense.
yes social bookmarking brings a lot of traffic, but then the nofollow tags make the backlinks completely useless. wikipedia is also a nice place to get traffic, but then the nofollow tags are a reason why people don't bother too much for them. anyways, congrats for your traffic, i have seen it on yahoo bookmarks also!!
There is difference between traffic from SU and social bookmarkings.. Stumble upon will give you traffic for few days till people stumble your sites - you will see a boost for few days , then nothing.. While other social networkings like Digg, Del.ico.us will not give a peak in traffic, but steady traffic
Yeppir - Stumbleupon is like crack for websites - big rush then blahhh - gives ya 'bout a thousand uniques and very few clicks for about 24hrs then just one every so often after that - the rush is fun though
Social Bookmarking can bring traffic for the site. And the traffic that came from social bookmarking is a great used because it bring popularity
