I promote one of my sites which is hosting related on content network ONLY (used search and search network really long long time ago). When I do search on google for my-domain.com I can see where my ads were shown and they are mainly (99%) shown at sites like: www. debias .com or www. cswhosting .com Are they a "content network"? I don't see any typical AdSense ads out there. They look like small search engines not like www. freewebs .com which is #1 site for site-targeted campaign for term "hosting". My imagination about "content network" sites from other campaigns was a little bit different.
The two websites you pointed out may be in Google's content network, but you should stay away from placing your ads on them. I looked at both of them and it's obvious they were only set up to make money off of ads. They don't offer anything of value to the visitor. Try looking for forums, blogs or instructional websites in Google's network that are directly related to hosting. These options are legit. Huligan
But when I even pick up a list with really targeted phrases like: "low budget web hosting services" my site appear only at these sites. BTW - Seems that they do convert and make me pretty nice ROI but as you said I am little dissapointed of their quality... Seems that this niche has plenty of parked domains with ads like that and that's bad becuase they are not sites which are suggested for sites targeted campaign when searching for them using keywords.
From my personal experience I can say that it is definitely worth it. Why it should not display my entire ad? I know that sometimes long url in some "skycrapers" could be cut becaue of their "one word" lenght.
